Abstract

Electronic voting system and corresponding optional electronically readable ballot paper. Uses ballot papers that comprises different options and the completed papers are inserted in a ballot box (2) that includes reading capabilities (12) of the vote cast and an inspection unit (18) that automatically scrutinizes the ballot box and sends the vote, via a communications network (26), to a processing center (27).It is unique because the vote cast is printed in: a first zone (4), similar to traditional ballot papers, that includes methods to guarantee the privacy of the selected option and in a second zone (5) in which the vote cast is hidden in a disguised zone (6).The reader has the means to read the disguised zone (6) and there are also independent means (9) to remove the disguising temporarily so that the voter can verify that the vote contained in the disguised zone (6) corresponds to the vote in the first zone (4).It counts the votes in a minimal amount of time, enabling the efficiency of the voting process.
