Abstract

A bedding or seating spring product (1) comprising a spring assembly (10) having multiple rows (2) of coil springs (3) wherein each row of coil springs is made from a single continuous length of wire and wherein each row contains a plurality of coils (3a, 3b, 3c...) interconnected by interconnecting segments (4, 5), alternate ones of which are disposed in the top and bottom planes of the spring assembly. The interconnecting segments (4, 5) are generally planar and include U-shaped portions having parallel legs (4c, 5c) and a connecting web (4b, 5b). Adjacent rows of coils are connected by securement of the web (4b, 5b) of a U-shaped portion of each interconnecting segment of one row of coils to a pair of spaced portions (4a, 5a) of interconnecting segments (4, 5) of an adjacent row (2).
