Abstract
The device has a heat exchanger 1 above the level of the sea, it being possible, also, for it to have variable orientation in order to take maximum advantage of the passing of the sea breeze through it. The coil 2 of the exchanger 1 has water passing through it, which water rises by means of a boost pump 3, via a vertical conduit at great depth where the temperature oscillates around 10 degree C returning to the sea via a parallel conduit 4. As the sea breeze passes, the water vapour condenses on the coil 2 owing to the low temperature of the water circulating through the exchanger 1. The condensed water is collected in a collector or tray 5 below the exchanger 1 and is subjected to a necessary mineralization process. It is of use in places where there is scant rainfall or water-supply problems, employing condensation of the water from the sea breeze.
