Definitions

  • the invention relates to a knife with a blade, wherein the blade has a cutting edge running in the longitudinal direction of the blade and a knife back opposite the cutting edge, and with a handle connected to the blade, wherein the handle is rigidly connected to the blade via a web arranged above the knife back in such a way that when the blade is in a vertical position, a vertical gripping plane formed by the central longitudinal axis of the handle is arranged laterally offset next to a cutting plane formed by the cutting edge.
  • a generic knife is, for example, from the US 1 614 772 A
  • the handle of this knife is an extension of the blade above the
  • the arrangement of the handle above the back of the knife makes it easier to cut through the material until the blade rests on the cutting surface, but the arrangement of the handle at the back hardly allows for the application of even cutting pressure to the blade.
  • US 3 630 249 A A cleaver with two blades arranged parallel to each other and a handle arranged above the back of the knife is known.
  • This cleaver designed in the style of a ULU knife, is not suitable for making a guided straight cut.
  • the object of the invention is to create a knife with which, with a simple construction, it is possible to exert sufficient pressure on the cutting edge and to carry out a straight guided cut.
  • the solution to this problem is characterized according to the invention in that the handle is arranged on the blade relative to the longitudinal direction of the blade between the center of the blade and the end region of the blade.
  • the handle is positioned relative to the longitudinal direction of the blade between the middle of the blade and the end area of the blade.
  • the positioning of the handle relative to the longitudinal direction of the blade can vary depending on the knife type or the intended use of the knife.
  • a practical embodiment of the invention proposes that the handle plane be arranged parallel to the cutting plane of the cutting edge in order to easily enable a straight cut to be made.
  • an alternative embodiment of the invention proposes that the handle plane is arranged at an angle to the cutting plane of the cutting edge.
  • the angle to the cutting plane can be designed such that the handle plane is angled towards the cutting plane or away from the cutting plane.
  • the invention proposes that the handle is arranged parallel to the back of the blade on the blade in order to achieve a uniform introduction of force onto the blade and thus the cutting edge.
  • the handle is arranged on the blade blade at an angle to the back of the blade blade, whereby the handle can be angled upwards or downwards. Bending the handle upwards relative to the longitudinal direction of the blade blade enables increased pressure force to be applied to the blade blade and the cutting edge.
  • the invention further proposes that the web is either designed as a single piece with the blade or is designed as a separate component that can be fixed to the blade.
  • the handling of the knife can be made easier and improved for the user by providing at least one grip recess for at least one finger of a user on the handle and/or on the web.
  • a grip recess be provided parallel to the back of the knife. This grip recess, which is provided for the thumb or index finger, can be used to exert additional pressure from above on the blade and thus the cutting edge.
  • the illustration Fig.1 shows a knife 1 with a blade 2, on one long side of which a cutting edge 4 running in the longitudinal direction 3 of the blade 2 is designed for cutting a material to be cut and which has a handle 5 connected to the blade 2 for handling and guiding the knife 1.
  • the handle 5 is rigidly connected to the blade 1 via a web 6.
  • the web 6 is designed such that the handle 5 is arranged above a knife back 7 formed on the longitudinal side of the blade 2 opposite the cutting edge 4 and, when the blade 2 is in a vertical position, a vertical handle plane G formed by the central longitudinal axis 9 of the handle 5 is arranged laterally offset next to a cutting plane S formed by the cutting edge 4.
  • the lateral offset of the handle plane G to the cutting plane S of the cutting edge 4 provides a clear view of the cut made by the cutting edge 4.
  • This arrangement of the handle 5 relative to the blade 2 can also be used in particular with knives 1 with a straight or only slightly curved cutting edge 4, with which a guided straight cut is to be carried out.
  • the lateral offset of the handle plane G to the cutting plane S of the cutting edge 4 simultaneously causes a lateral offset to the material to be cut by the cutting edge 4, whereby there is no contact between the material to be cut and the cutting hand guiding the knife 1, as is often the case with conventional knives 1.
  • the arrangement of the handle 5 above the knife back 7 is also advantageous from an ergonomic point of view, since the cutting hand is always positioned above the cutting surface even when completely cutting through the material to be cut and does not hit the cutting surface when cutting through the material to be cut, as is the case with conventional knives 1.
  • This arrangement of the handle 5 on the knife 1 enables a relaxed position of the knife 1 in a relaxed position of the hand and arm, in which the knife 1 forms a natural extension of the user's arm or hand.
  • a further advantage of the arrangement of the handle 5 above the knife back 7 and laterally offset from the blade 2 is that the knife 1 is easier to handle when the chopped food is picked up with the blade 2 at an angle and one hand and brought to the cooking area.
  • the handle plane G is arranged parallel to the cutting plane S of the cutting edge 4 in order to easily enable the formation of a straight cut.
  • the handle 5 is arranged parallel to the knife back 7 of the blade 2 on the blade 2, whereby a uniform introduction of force onto the blade 2 and thus the cutting edge 4 can be achieved.
  • the handle plane G can be arranged at an angle ⁇ to the cutting plane S of the cutting edge 4 on the blade 2, as shown in Fig.4 is shown.
  • the angle of attack ⁇ to the cutting plane S can be designed such that the free end of the handle 5 is angled towards the cutting plane S or away from the cutting plane S.
  • the handle 5 at an angle ⁇ to the knife back 7 of the blade 2 on the blade 2, as shown in Fig.5
  • the handle 5 can be angled upwards or downwards. The upward bending of the handle 5 relative to the longitudinal direction 3 of the blade 2 enables an increased pressure force to be introduced onto the blade 2 and the cutting edge 4.
  • the handle 5 in the illustrated embodiment of a knife 1 is arranged on the blade 2 between the center of the blade 2 and the end region of the blade 2 relative to the longitudinal direction 3 of the blade.
  • the invention provides for the handle 5 to be arranged on the blade 2 relative to the longitudinal direction of the blade 2 between the center of the blade 2 and the end region of the blade 2.
  • the web 6, via which the handle 5 is connected to the blade 2, can either be designed as a single piece with the blade 2 or as a separate component that can be fixed to the blade 2. If the web 6 is designed as a separate component, the web 6 and the blade 2 can be welded or riveted to one another, for example.
  • a blade holder provided with a slot is formed on the web 6, into which the blade 2 can be inserted.
  • the blade 2 can then be permanently secured in the blade holder, for example by welding.
  • a detachable securing of the blade 2 in the blade holder by means of a locking or clamping connection is also possible.
  • the handle 5 is arranged on the web 6 in such a way that part of the web 6 is visible, it is of course also possible for the web 6 to be completely accommodated in the handle 5.
  • the handle 5 is arranged above the knife back 7 and laterally offset from a cutting plane S formed by the cutting edge 4 relative to the blade 2.
  • the handling of the knife 1 can be made easier and improved for the user by forming grip recesses 8 for the fingers of a user on the handle 5. Because a grip recess 8 is formed parallel to the knife back 7, additional pressure can be exerted from above on the blade 2 and thus the cutting edge 4 via the thumb or index finger, which is placed in this grip recess 8.
  • a grip recess 8 on the web 6 so that, for example, the thumb of a user rests in the grip recess 8 on the web 6 and thus enables particularly sensitive guidance of the knife 1.
  • a knife 1 designed as described above is characterized in that, with a simple structure, it is possible to exert sufficient pressure on the cutting edge 4 and to carry out a straight guided cut.
