Definitions
- the field of the invention is that of the design and manufacture of medical equipment.
- the invention relates to the design of an accessory intended to equip rods to facilitate their use.
- Canes are medical equipment intended to facilitate the movement of a person with limited mobility.
- crutches also denotes crutches.
- crutches are in fact canes in that they constitute equipment allowing a person to lean on the arms and shoulders to relieve the load on the legs when walking or standing. These crutches have a longitudinal main element from which extends a handle intended to be grasped by the user of the crutch.
- a cane or crutches To be easily picked up by their user, a cane or crutches must be placed against a wall or on a suitable surface, in a position within easy reach of a person standing or even seated if necessary. By their nature, a cane or crutches are usually not in a stable position when only resting against a wall (or the like).
- a cane or crutches To be able to be posed in a stable manner, a cane or crutches must, for example, be rested in a corner formed by the meeting of two walls.
- These straps consist more precisely of a link to be attached at one end to a cane and which has a loop at another end.
- the person When using the cane, the person should insert their hand inside the loop. In this way, the user can let go of his rod without the latter being able to fall.
- cane support systems correspond to a self-locking stop in which a tube forming the main element of a cane must be inserted.
- the rod is thus coupled in this self-locking stop and is held in a waiting position in which it does not need to be held by its user.
- devices are also known in the form of a magnet provided with a sticky patch on one side so that it can be coupled to the end of a handle of crutches, as described in the document de. patent published under the number GB2468897 , for example.
- the user of crutches can assemble two crutches together thanks to their handle thus magnetized.
- the crutches assembled together then form a V which can be balanced against a wall.
- the end of the crutch handles conventionally has an inclination relative to the central axis of the crutch.
- the assembly of the two crutches by their handle thus brings together the feet of the two crutches forming the V.
- the crutches can be rested balanced against a wall, in a more stable position than if they were just resting each against this wall.
- the crutches when they are rested assembled against a wall, the crutches have a single point of support on the ground (resulting from the meeting of the two legs of the crutches) and two points of support against the wall thanks to the upper ends of the crutches which come to rest against the wall.
- Such a device although allowing a more stable waiting position to be obtained than when they are simply placed individually against a wall, still causes a certain instability of the crutches in their rest position assembled against a wall. Indeed, the presence of a single point of support on the ground does not provide ideal support.
- this device is obviously not suitable for people who use only one crutch.
- the object of the invention is in particular to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art.
- the object of the invention is to provide a device for holding at least one cane in a waiting position which is particularly easy to use by a user while making it possible to safely store a cane or crutches. in a waiting position.
- Another objective of the invention is to provide such a device which is simple to design.
- Another objective of the invention is to provide such a device which is suitable for various situations that the user may have to encounter in order to be able to put his crutches in a waiting position.
- any rod equipped with a body carrying the first coupling member is thus compatible with the second coupling member intended to be fixed on a support external to the device.
- second coupling members can be coupled at different places (home, establishment open to the public, etc.) to allow users to position their rod in a waiting position when they are not. do not need it, without it falling to the ground.
- the device according to the invention thus makes it possible to avoid falls when a user of a cane has to put down or take back his cane.
- such a magnetic coupling does not cause any degradation, or at the very least little degradation, of the resistance of the coupling over time.
- a magnetic coupling has a longer lifespan.
- the first part can have degrees of freedom in translation or in rotation with respect to the first part, thereby allowing the punctual adjustment of the position of the first control member. coupling vis-à-vis the cane.
- This or these elastically deformable arm or arms allow the coupling of the first member to the second member and the placing in a standby position of the rod without the rod having to assume a precise position with respect to the second coupling member fixed to the rod. a support, during coupling.
- the elastically deformable arm allows the rod not to have to present a specific angle with respect to the second coupling member, the position of the rod being able to be adjusted during the coupling.
- the waiting position of the rod can be adjusted as best as possible to allow the coupling of the first member. coupling to the second coupling member and maintaining the rod in a stable position.
- the body With its tip shape, the body is positioned at the end of the handle of the cane (this cane can then be in particular a crutch). In this position, the body has an optimized position to be able to achieve the coupling of a crutch or a cane provided with a handle to a second member previously fixed to an external support.
- the first coupling member has a cooperation face intended to be located opposite the second coupling member, and the body forms a means for positioning the first coupling member in a position in which the cooperation face is substantially perpendicular to an axis of extension of the handle.
- the first coupling member is not impacted by the shape of the handle and in particular if this handle has an end whose end face has a small or large angle with the main longitudinal body of the crutch.
- the first member would have a poorly optimized positioning to be able to be coupled to an external support, the main longitudinal body of the rod being able to then obstruct a stable coupling of the rod.
- the end piece is extended by a comfort sleeve intended to cover the handle.
- Such a comfort sleeve makes it possible to optimize the integration of the end piece, and thus of the body, on a cane.
- This comfort sleeve can also be designed to absorb shock.
- the sleeve comprises a protuberance made of an elastically deformable material, the protuberance being situated on an upper face of the sleeve, at one end of the sleeve opposite the end piece.
- This protuberance absorbs a large part of the shocks transmitted by the handle of a cane to the pisiform bone when a user uses his cane.
- the device thus makes it possible to prevent the appearance of a disabling musculoskeletal disorder.
- the device comprises a protective tongue extending from the end of the first part of the end piece opposite the comfort sleeve.
- Such a tongue allows the user, when using the cane, not to pinch the skin of the hand located between the thumb and forefinger, between the handle of the cane and the body of the device mounted on the handle. .
- the second coupling member is mounted on a second rod.
- the second coupling member is a plate.
- Such a plate forms a second coupling member which is particularly easy to produce and simple to fix on an external support.
- the holding device allows a rod 1 to be held in a standby position not held by a user.
- the holding device according to the invention is suitable for a rod 1 of conventional shape.
- the holding device is also suitable for a crutch-type cane 1 comprising a main longitudinal body 10 as well as a handle 11, as shown on the right of the figure.
- the support 5 external to the device is a wall.
- the second coupling member 3 is complementary to the first coupling member 2 to allow the rod 1 to be held in its standby position not held by a user.
- the first coupling member 2 and the second coupling member 3 perform magnetic coupling.
- the first coupling member 2 is a magnet 20.
- the second coupling member can also be a magnet.
- the second coupling member is metallic and complementary to the magnet 20.
- the second coupling member 3 is a plate 30.
- This plate can for example be made of iron or steel.
- the second coupling member 3 can be worn by the user of the rod.
- the support external to the device can correspond to a garment.
- the second coupling member is then fixed to the garment.
- the user of the rod can then transiently couple his cane on her clothing to keep her in position without falling. The rod thus always remains within immediate reach of its user.
- the outer support may correspond to a plate which is attached to a garment by being sewn into the garment.
- the external support may correspond to a plate inserted into a pocket of the garment such that the plate is kept fixed in the pocket during current use of the device.
- the body 4 of the holding device according to the invention can take several forms.
- the body 4 takes the form of a bracelet.
- the body 4 can take the form of a tip which is then intended to at least partially match the end of a handle 11 of the rod 1, as illustrated more precisely on the figure 1 and 4 .
- the body 4 has a simplified design.
- the body 4 then simply has a first part 40 which is intended to be mounted on the rod and also to carry the first coupling member.
- the body 4 comprises a single element 40 provided with coupling means 44.
- the single element 40 has a contact face 400 intended to come into contact with the longitudinal main body of a rod 1, and a coupling face 401 intended to come into contact with the second member 3.
- the single element 40 incorporates a housing intended to receive the first coupling member 2, this coupling member 2 being in this case a magnet 20.
- the magnet 20 is inserted into the housing through the opening 6.
- the coupling means 44 take the form of a link 440 extending from the single element, and a lumen 441 located on the single element.
- the link 440 is complementary to the lumen 441 to establish the coupling of the body on the rod.
- These coupling means form a loop intended to grip part of the rod.
- the link 440 has a plurality of teeth 442 intended to cooperate with the periphery of the lumen 441.
- the progressive insertion of the link into the lumen tightens the loop, this insertion being progressively locked by the successive cooperation of the teeth 442 with the periphery of the lumen. light 441.
- the body 4 is at least partially elastically deformable so as to allow the insertion of the magnet 20 into the housing via the opening 6.
- This opening 6 has dimensions smaller than those of the magnet 20.
- the body 4 takes the form of a tip and is intended to at least partially match the end of a handle of the rod 1. This cooperation of the tip with a rod handle is shown in Figure figure 4 .
- the first part 41 has a cylindrical shape and makes it possible to match the shape of the end of a handle 11 of a cane 1.
- This first part can be provided with a heat-shrinkable seal to be permanently secured to the handle of a cane.
- the second part 42 of the body 4 carries the first coupling member 2.
- the second part 42 comprises a housing in which the first coupling member 2 is located.
- the first coupling member 2 is a magnet 20.
- the second part 42 has an opening 6 with dimensions smaller than those of the magnet 20, thus requiring the forceful insertion of the magnet inside the housing.
- the body 4 is at least partially elastically deformable. Indeed, the first part 41 is connected by two elastically deformable arms 43 to the second part 42.
- From the first part 41 extend two arms 43 which make it possible to position the second part 42 at the end of the handle. These arms allow the positioning of the second part without however this second part being positioned and oriented by the specific shape of the end of the handle.
- the arms are designed to hold the second part away from the first part, and thus to pull the second part away from the end of the handle.
- the elastically deformable arms 43 are designed so as to allow and / or limit and / or block certain translations or rotations of the second part 42 relative to the first part 41 of the body 4.
- the arms 43 each take the form of a strip connecting the first part 41 to the second part 42.
- the two arms 43 have a first flange 431 having an arcuate curvature and a diameter D1.
- the arms 43 have a second flange 432 with a circular arc curvature and a diameter D2.
- the diameter D1 is smaller than the diameter D2. Consequently, the rim 431 of the arm 43 which takes the form of a strip has a length less than the second rim 432.
- the ends of the arms 43 are essentially parallel to a transverse axis X of the body 4.
- This design allows the body 42 to have a relative freedom of translation along the X axis, this translation being illustrated by the arrow T on the figure 3a .
- the second part 42 also has a degree of rotation making it possible to modify the angle of the second part 42 relative to the first part 41 of the body 4, this degree of rotation being illustrated by the arrow R on the figure 3b .
- the first coupling member 2 has a cooperation face 200 intended to be located opposite the second coupling member 3.
- the body 4 thus forms a means for positioning the first coupling member 2 in a position in which the cooperation face is substantially perpendicular to an axis of extension of the handle as illustrated by figure 4 . This positioning facilitates the realization of the coupling.
- the body 4 is coupled to the end of a handle 11 of the cane 1.
- This body 4 taking the form of a tip is extended by a comfort sleeve 7 which makes it possible to cover the handle 11.
- the second coupling member 3 is mounted on a second rod 1 (second rod 1 located to the right of the figure).
- the second coupling member 3 can also be a magnet and be carried by the handle 11 of the second rod 1 by a body identical to that which carries the first coupling member.
- This embodiment allows two crutches to be coupled by their handles and to have certain degrees of freedom in translation and in rotation.
- the body 4 takes the form of a bracelet ( figure 2a, 2b and 2c ) is not exclusive of the fact that the body has a single element 40. Indeed, in this embodiment the single element 40 can be replaced by a first part 41 connected to a second part 42 by means of one or more elastically deformable arms.
- the material used to make the body is silicone.
- This material has anti-slip and shock-absorbing qualities which are particularly advantageous for the use of the device according to the invention.
- the third embodiment of the body 4 is described below with reference to figures 5 to 7 .
- the body 4 takes the form of an end piece extending by a comfort sleeve 7 which makes it possible to cover the handle 11.
- the body 4 is made of an elastically deformable material.
- the device further comprises a protective tab 410.
- the tongue 410 extends from the end of the first part of the end piece opposite the comfort sleeve 7.
- the protective tongue 410 is intended to overlap the end of the handle of the cane, and to prevent the hand from being pinched between the body 4 and the handle.
- the sleeve 7 has a protuberance 70.
- This protuberance 70 is located at the end of the sleeve opposite the end piece.
- the protuberance 70 is in an elastically deformable material, and in particular in the material of the body 4.
- the sleeve 7 also has an upper face 700 intended to be positioned on the rod 1, covering the handle.
- the sleeve 7 also has a lower notch 72 delimited by two wings 71.
- the notch 72 allows the body 4 to be fitted onto a cane handle, and the two wings 71 partially surround the handle to improve the comfort felt by the rod. user of the cane while participating in maintaining the body 4 on the handle 11.
- the notch 72 and the wings 71 make it possible to improve the grip of the handle of the rod.
- a cane handle (and more precisely a crutch handle) is conventionally made of hard plastic.
- the user tightens the sleeve, he locks the hand-sleeve connection and the sleeve on the handle, and guarantees that the body 4 is held in position on the handle.
- the wings 71 enclose the handle and prevent the body 4 from sliding from its position on the handle or from rotating around the handle, and this in various hygrometric environments.
- the first part 41 has a cylindrical shape and makes it possible to match the end of a handle 11 of a cane 1.
- the second part 42 of the body 4 carries the first coupling member 2.
- the second part 42 comprises a housing in which the first coupling member 2 takes place.
- the first coupling member 2 is a magnet 20.
- the second part 42 has an opening 6 through which the magnet must be inserted by force, into the housing. According to other embodiments, the opening can be located at different locations on the second part.
- the first part 41 is connected by two elastically deformable arms 43 to the second part 42.
- the two arms 43 extend from the first part 41 to position the second part 42 at the end of the handle. These arms 43 allow the positioning of the second part without, however, this second part being positioned and oriented by the specific shape of the end of the handle.
- the arms 43 are designed to keep the second part away from the first part, and thus to move the second part away from the end of the handle.
- the elastically deformable arms 43 maintain the second part 42 in a predetermined position separated (or remote) from the first part 41.
- the arms 43 each take the form of a band connecting the first part 41 to the second part 42.
- the device according to the invention thus allows stabilization of a pair of rods 1 as illustrated by figure 4 .
- the comfort sleeve 7 improves the grip of the handle of a cane 1 and the felt comfort.
- the device makes it possible to at least partially prevent or even limit the appearance of a musculoskeletal disorder and associated disabling pathologies.
