  • the insert may then be rotated to index it into the desired position, without the need to disassemble any parts of the hinge. This enables a hinge having these hinge plate assemblies 50 to easily be adjusted in situ.
  • the stepped hole 62 comprises a narrower portion for receiving the shaft 76 of the pin 64, and a wider section adjacent the mouth of the stepped hole 62 for receiving an enlarged portion of the pin 78.
  • the enlarged portion gives additional bearing support to the pin 64 where in enters and exits the stepped hole 62.
  • a threaded through hole 80 interconnects the bottom of the stepped hole 62 with the hexagonal hole 74 and contains a grub screw (omitted for clarity). As the grub screw is wound into the threaded hole 80 it projects to a greater or lesser extend into the stepped hole 62.
  • the grub screw will lift the pin in the stepped hole 62, thereby, in use, giving vertical adjustment of the position of the door relative the frame.
  • a tool may be inserted through the hexagonal hole 80 to adjust the grub screw, thereby adjusting the door height on the hinge, whilst in situ.
  • a hinge 82 is shown comprising one hinge plate 20 as described with reference to Figures 1 and 2 and a second hinge plate assembly 50 as described in relation to Figures 3 and 4 .
  • the combination of the two hinge plates of the invention result in a hinge that enables very accurate adjustment of a door relative a frame in all three axis.

Claims (14)

  1. Verstellscharnierplatte (20), die aufweist: eine Platte (22) für das Befestigen der Scharnierplatte auf einer Fläche; und einen Zylinder (26) für das Aufnehmen eines Scharnierbolzens darin, wenn eine Benutzung erfolgt, wobei die Scharnierplatte (20) außerdem einen Verstelleinsatz (28) mit einem Scharnierbolzenloch (38) aufweist, das sich mindestens teilweise darin für das teilweise Aufnehmen eines Scharnierbolzens erstreckt, wenn eine Benutzung erfolgt, wobei der Einsatz (28) relativ zum Scharnierplattenzylinder (26) drehbar ist, um so das Scharnierbolzenloch (38) darin relativ zur Mittelachse des Zylinders zu bewegen, wobei der Einsatz (28) außerdem ein Verstellmittel (42, 44) für das Drehen des Einsatzes (28) aufweist, und wobei der Einsatz (28) länglich ist und einen Drehrand (32) aufweist, der sich im Wesentlichen parallel zum und versetzt vom Scharnierbolzenloch erstreckt, wobei der Einsatz (28) um den Drehrand (32) drehbar ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass
    der Einsatz (28) einen im Wesentlichen birnenförmigen Querschnitt aufweist.
  2. Verstellscharnierplatte nach Anspruch 1, bei der das Verstellmittel aufweist: ein Gewindeloch (42), das durch den Einsatz im Wesentlichen senkrecht zum Scharnierbolzenloch (38) verläuft; und eine Schraube (44) innerhalb des Gewindeloches (42), und die sich über das Innere des Zylinders (26) erstreckt, so dass die Drehung der Schraube (44) den Einsatz mit sich vorwärts bewegt, wodurch er auf seinem Drehrand gedreht wird, wobei das Gewindeloch (42) durch den Einsatz (28) in einem vollen Bereich davon, benachbart dem inneren Ende des Scharnierbolzenloches (38) verläuft.
  3. Verstellscharnierplatte nach Anspruch 2, bei der der Drehrand (32) eine abgerundete Fläche aufweist.
  4. Verstellscharnierplatte nach Anspruch 2 oder Anspruch 3, bei der das Innere des Zylinders (26) eine Gelenknut (34) aufweist, in der der Drehrand (32) des Einsatzes sitzt.
  5. Verstellscharnierplatte nach Anspruch 4, bei der der Zylinder (26) außerdem eine gebogene Fläche (36) im Wesentlichen entgegengesetzt der Gelenknut (34) aufweist, wobei die Krümmung der Fläche (36) so ist, dass, während der Einsatz (28) um seinen Drehrand (32) gedreht wird, der Rand entgegengesetzt dem Drehrand (32) der Krümmung der Fläche (36) folgt.
  6. Verstellscharnierplatte nach Anspruch 5, bei der der Einsatz (28) auf seiner gebogenen Fläche (36) in Gleitkontakt mit der Scharnierplatte (20) und in einem Drehkontakt mit der Gelenknut (34) ist.
  7. Verstellscharnierplatte nach Anspruch 1, bei der der Zylinder (26) eine Werkzeugöffnung (46) darin aufweist, wobei die Werkzeugöffnung (46) ausreichend groß ist, damit ein Werkzeug dort hindurch geführt werden kann, um die Schraube (44) zu drehen, und ausreichend klein ist, um so die Schraube (44) innerhalb des Zylinders (26) zu halten.
  8. Verstellscharnierplatte nach Anspruch 7, bei der die Öffnung (46) einen Schlitz aufweist.
  9. Verstellscharnier, das zwei Scharnierplatten (20), wobei eine jede Scharnierplatte (20) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8 ist, und einen Scharnierbolzen (40) aufweist, der sich in beide Scharnierplatten (20) erstreckt, um den sich eine Scharnierplatte (20) relativ zur anderen drehen kann.
  10. Verstellscharnier nach Anspruch 9, bei dem die Einsätze (28) der zwei Scharnierplatten (20) unter 90° zueinander ausgerichtet sind.
  11. Verstellscharnier (82), das zwei Scharnierplatten aufweist, wobei die erste Scharnierplatte (20) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9 ist, und die zweite Scharnierplatte (50) aufweist: eine Platte (54) für das Befestigen der Scharnierplatte (50) an einer Fläche; und einen Zylinder (58) für das Aufnehmen eines Scharnierbolzens (64) darin, wenn eine Benutzung erfolgt, wobei die Scharnierplatte außerdem einen im Wesentlichen zylindrischen länglichen Verstelleinsatz (60) mit einem Scharnierbolzenloch (62) aufweist, das sich mindestens teilweise dort hinein erstreckt, wenn eine Benutzung erfolgt, um teilweise einen Scharnierbolzen (60) aufzunehmen, wobei der Einsatz (60) relativ zum Scharnierplattenzylinder (58) drehbar ist, um so das Scharnierbolzenloch (62) darin relativ zur Mittelachse des Zylinders (58) zu bewegen, wobei der Einsatz (60) außerdem ein Verstellmittel für das Drehen des Einsatzes aufweist, und wobei der Einsatz länglich ist; und wobei das Scharnierbolzenloch (62) von der Mittelachse des Einsatzes (60) versetzt ist, so dass eine Drehung des Einsatzes (60) die Position des Scharnierbolzenloches (62) relativ zur Mittelachse bewegt; wobei der Einsatz (60) und der Zylinder (58) Eingriffsmerkmale (72) aufweisen, die Verzahnungen an einer Endfläche des Zylinders (58) und entsprechende Merkmale (70) am Einsatz (60) aufweisen, die sich in den Verzahnungen ausrichten, wenn der Einsatz (60) vollständig eingesetzt ist, und wobei sich ein Gewindeloch (80) zwischen einer Werkzeugöffnung (74) und einem Scharnierbolzenloch (62) erstreckt, und wobei der Einsatz außerdem eine Schraube aufweist, die sich vom Gewindeloch (80) in das Scharnierbolzenloch (62) hinein erstreckt, so dass die Drehung der Schraube (80) bewirkt, dass sie in einem größeren oder kleinerem Maß in das Scharnierbolzenloch (62) hineinragt.
  12. Verstellscharnier nach Anspruch 11, bei dem die Verzahnungen und die entsprechenden Eingriffsmerkmale (70, 72) auf den Einsätzen winkelige oder gebogene Seiten aufweisen, so dass die Drehung des Einsatzes (60) eine Längskraft auf den Zylinder (58) ausübt, die bewirkt, dass sich die Ränder der Eingriffsmerkmale (70, 72) auf die winkeligen oder gebogenen Seiten der Verzahnungen nach oben bewegen, wodurch veranlasst wird, dass der Einsatz (60) rotatorisch vom Zylinder (58) getrennt wird.
  13. Verstellscharnier nach Anspruch 11 oder 12, bei dem sich der Einsatz (60) durch den Zylinder (58) erstreckt, wobei das Ende, das durch den Zylinder (58) gelangt, die Werkzeugöffnung (74) darin für das Aufnehmen eines Werkzeuges aufweist, um den Einsatz (60) zu drehen.
  14. Tür, die mindestens ein Scharnier nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 13 aufweist.
