Abstract

The device has a heat exchanger (1) inclined at an angle of 45 degrees, and supplied with cold or hot water by a reversible liquid cooler. A waste water conduit towards a waste water collector (5) is maintained through inclination of the exchanger maintained by inclined wall brackets (3), where the device is operated by natural convection, and permits air to be in circulation due to temperature difference between ambience and the exchanger. A deflector (4) below the exchanger diverts a portion of the air cooled in an upper part in the ambience.

Description

The present invention relates to a device for air conditioning the ambience of a room by lowering the temperature and decreasing the weight of water contained in the air. It is fixed to the wall, positioned in the upper part.

Traditionally, air conditioning units are equipped with a fan. This leads to a noise and a draft effect harmful to health and comfort. These devices require an electrical installation and therefore leads to an electrical consumption.

Some models lack fans but require:
  • a false ceiling for their installation, which complicates the installation and penalizes the costs
  • an already air-conditioned air supply, generated by a centralized mechanical ventilation (VMC)
  • to create the inductive effect essential to the mixing of the ambient air to be treated
  • to reduce the water weight of the ambient air in order to avoid the condensation phenomenon on the exchanger itself - a phenomenon that is feared in this case, since no solution can collect and evacuate the condensation water from the latent heat treatment, which, if any, would flood the ceilings and leak into the room.

The device according to the invention overcomes these disadvantages. It comprises an inclined heat exchanger (1), in particular an angle of 45 °, supplied with cold or hot water by a reversible liquid cooler. Condensation water is fed to a collector by the inclination of the exchanger held by the inclined wall supports (3). The front panel (2) constituting the covering provided for visual comfort includes, at its lower part and over the entire length, a condensing water collector (5) to be connected to a gravity evacuation system.

The device operates by natural convection, the air is circulated by temperature difference between the atmosphere and the exchanger. This natural air circulation thus obtained is the air flow needed to cool the atmosphere of the room. The device operates without fan and therefore without any noise emission or power consumption. The operation by natural convection makes the self-regulating device, a large temperature difference generates a strong exchange and conversely a small gap generates only a small exchange. It may nevertheless, according to traditional principles be optionally equipped with a chilled water valve that regulates the flow of chilled water according to the needs of the occupant managed by a wall thermostat or any order.

The heat exchanger comprises a fin arrangement with geometry of the angle of inclination of the exchanger in particular 45 °.
The exchanger is characterized by a large exchange surface making it possible to raise the chilled-water temperature regime to a value much less consuming electrical energy by the liquid cooler, in particular 15 ° C. The dimensioning of the air passage surface ensures an air circulation speed imperceptible to the occupants.

Ces deux profilés d'extrémités reposant sur le collecteur d'eau du panneau d'habillage conduisent l'eau captée vers celui-ci.The device comprises a baffle (4) below the exchanger, fixed to the wall supports, for deflecting a portion of air cooled in the upper part in the environment. It is inclined forwards and has a rim along its entire length allowing the capture of rebellious drops of condensation that could fall before arrival in the collector. It comprises a central section (9) bearing on the collector, giving it a curved profile in its length allowing the flow of water collected to the end profiles (10) integrated in the deflector. These two end profiles resting on the water collector of the trim panel conduct the water collected thereto.

According to particular embodiments,
  • an air filter can be placed upstream of the exchanger
  • the system can be reversible and operate in heating if it is supplied with hot water.
  • For high condensing operation cases, the exchanger of the device will comprise fins with an ovoid profile end allowance over the length ( Fig. 4 ) driving the drops of condensation to the collector.

With reference to these drawings, the device comprises two triangular wall supports (3). One of the three sides of each wall support has two holes for fixing to the wall, the second side to 90 ° also has two holes for fixing the front panel with its brackets and the last inclined side has the nipple for the hanging of the exchanger. The interior of the sides of the triangular support is solid with a hole housing a screw supporting the deflector (4).

The cladding is composed of a front panel (2) and side panels (6). The front panel is equipped with two brackets (7) for assembling the panel to the wall brackets.

The frame of the exchanger rests on the inclined sides of the wall brackets. The exchanger is maintained in this position thanks to the nipples (8). The spacing of the fins should be sufficient to allow the free passage of air.

A titre d'exemple non limitatif, l'habillage aura des dimensions de l'ordre de 1800mm de long, 300mm de haut et 180mm de profond (par rapport au mur).As a non-limiting example, the cladding will have dimensions of the order of 1800mm long, 300mm high and 180mm deep (relative to the wall).
