Abstract

The invention relates to an anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly for cheques (3), comprising at least a transparent film (2), having an adhesive side and a coating layer (4) for said adhesive, said film (2), after having removed the coating layer (4), adhering on the surface of the document (3) in such a way not to allow its subsequent removal from the same document, without permanent alteration of the document.

Description

The present invention relates to an anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly cheques.
More specifically, the invention concerns a system of the above kind allowing providing an immediate evidence of the codification of the document, and particularly of the cheque.
In the following, the specification will be particularly addressed to an anti-forgery or anti-modification system for cheques, but it is well evident that by the same system it is possible realising an anti-forgery or anti-modification system for other kinds of documents.
As it is well known, although the maximum attention is paid when filling in a cheque, numerous cases occur of forgery or modification of the important data of the cheque, particularly the sum, either written in numbers or in letters, the signature, or data of the Bank and relevant to the current account,
In view of the delicacy of the document and of the importance of its meaning, it is well evident the importance of having at disposal a system as the one suggested according to the present invention, allowing avoiding that, once terminated the filling in of the different parts of the cheque, it is still possible altering or modifying the same cheque.
These and other results are obtained according to the present invention by the provision of a protective film, that can be provided above and permanently on the filled in cheque, so as a permanent trace and indelible of this attempt remains.
It is therefore specific object of the present invention an anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly for cheques, comprising at least a transparent film, having an adhesive side and a coating layer for said adhesive, said film, after having removed the coating layer, adhering on the surface of the document in such a way not to allow its subsequent removal from the same document, without permanent alteration of the document.
Preferably, according to the invention, said film is comprised of anti-reflex transparent material.
Furthermore, according to the invention, said film is comprised of material not interfering with reading instruments, particularly with a scanner.
Particularly, according to the invention, said coating of the side of the film provided with adhesive is made up of vegetal material.
Always according to the invention, said film can provide one or more windows or openings, allowing reaching some zones of the document also after the application of the film by the adhesive.
Preferably, according to the invention, said film can have exactly the same shape and sizes of the document to be protected, or it can have shape and size different with respect to those of the document to be protected.
The present invention will be now described, for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, with particular reference to the figures of the enclosed drawings, wherein:
figure 1 is a perspective schematic view of a cheque-book provided with protection system according to the invention before its application;
figure 2 is a perspective schematic view of a cheque-book provided with protection system according to the invention during its application;
figure 3 is a perspective schematic view of a cheque-book provided with protection system according to the invention after its application; and
figure 4 is a perspective schematic view of a cheque-book provided with protection system according to the invention during an attempt of removal of the protection.
Making reference to the figures of the enclosed drawings, it is shown an anti-forgery and anti-modification system according to the invention, particularly applied to a cheque-book 1.
As it can be observed, an alternation of protective film 2 and traditional cheque 3 is provided in cheque-book 1.
Thus the user has the cheque 3 for its regular filling in of the parts to be filled in, such as date, soma written in numbers and letters, the name of the beneficiary and the signature.
After having filled in the cheque 3, the user peels off the coating 4 of the film 2, dividing the two parts (figure 2), and thus, by the action of the adhesive, applying the film 2 on the filled in cheque 3 (figure 3).
In case someone should try removing the film 2 from the cheque 3 in order to modify important data, such as sum of money, beneficiary or signature, the effect will be the one shown in figure 4, i.e. clear and immediately evident deterioration of cheque 3, particularly of the zones with said important data.
As already mentioned in the above, it is also possible providing the film with some windows, or openings (not shown), allowing reaching some parts of the cheque 3, that can be chosen by the Bank, in order to be able writing on the same.
The present invention has been described for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, but it is to be understood that modifications and/or changes can be introduced by those skilled in the art without departing from the relevant scope as defined in the enclosed claims.

Claims

Anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly for cheques, characterised in that it comprises at least a transparent film, having an adhesive side and a coating layer for said adhesive, said film, after having removed the coating layer, adhering on the surface of the document in such a way not to allow its subsequent removal from the same document, without permanent alteration of the document.
Anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly for cheques according to claim 1, characterised in that said film is comprised of anti-reflex transparent material.
Anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly for cheques according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that said film is comprised of material not interfering with reading instruments, particularly with a scanner.
Anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly for cheques according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said coating of the side of the film provided with adhesive is made up of vegetal material.
Anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly for cheques according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said film provides one or more windows or openings, allowing reaching some zones of the document also after the application of the film by the adhesive.
Anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly for cheques according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said film has exactly the same shape and sizes of the document to be protected.
Anti-forgery or anti-modification system for documents, particularly for cheques according to one of the preceding claims 1 - 5, characterised in that said film has shape and size different with respect to those of the document to be protected.
