Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electric hair styling or hair care device with an ion generator device for generating ions to be supplied to the hair to be nourished, comprising at least one electrode unit emitting ions during operation of the device.
  • Hair care appliances having an ion generator means for generating and dispensing ions are known.
  • the ion generator device comprises a generator which is connected to an electrode with an electrode cable.
  • the electrodes are typically metal needles, with the tip end of such a needle being the ion donating end.
  • Lonengenerator wornen are regularly used only in such hair care equipment, which have a fan, such as a hot air blower, with which promoted air flow, the ions emitted by the electrode is transported to the hair to be maintained and electrostatically neutralized by the ions hair.
  • hair care appliances in which the electrode is disposed within the single air flow channel can be distinguished from those in which the electrode is arranged in a side channel provided parallel to the main flow channel.
  • this side channel is also flowed through by a partial air flow, so that the ions emitted by the electrode tip ions detected by the partial air flow, expediently be recirculated to the main air flow and then transported to the hair to be treated.
  • Such electrodes When using such electrodes in hair styling devices or hair care appliances is regularly taken to ensure that the free electrode tip or the free electrode tips can not be touched easily.
  • the electrodes are therefore always inside the device. Therefore, the air flow generated by the blower is needed to transport the released ions to the hair to be cared for.
  • the electrodes themselves are held in a socket within the hair care device, but the free end of the electrode is free in the room.
  • These prior art ion generator devices with the electrode units described are therefore not suitable for such hair care devices, in which the electrodes either freestanding and thus a risk of touch would have to be taken into account buying and / or are designed to work without a fan.
  • Such hair care devices are, for example, hair styling devices such as curling irons and the like.
  • the electrodes In the event that such hair care appliances should be equipped with an ion generator device and an electrode unit, the electrodes must overall be accommodated in a narrow socket, so that the free, ion-emitting end of such an electrode unit is also arranged inside the socket. With one of the previously known electrode units, however, an appreciable quantity of ions reaching the hair to be nourished can not be represented in such a then necessary arrangement of the electrodes.
  • the invention is therefore the object of developing an aforementioned hair styling or hair care device with an ion generator device such that with this one with a sufficient amount of ion targeted ion application for supporting the hair care or hair shaping process is possible, even if the electrode or electrode unit is arranged in a socket as protection against contact.
  • an aforementioned hair styling or hair care device wherein the at least one electrode unit held in a application for the release of the application side open socket, from a plurality of electrically conductive, stiff fibers fiber bundle existing small diameter, wherein the free, ion-emitting end of the fiber bundle is disposed within the socket and the electrode unit in the region of the application-side opening of the socket has at least one electrically conductive element of the same polarity as the fibers of the fiber bundle as a guide electrode.
  • the at least one electrode unit consists of an electrically conductive fiber bundle, constructed from a plurality of individual electrically conductive, stiff fibers each having a very small diameter. Fibers whose diameter is smaller than 50 ⁇ m, in particular smaller than 10 ⁇ m, are preferred. Due to their diameter, these fibers already form a tip suitable for the release of ions at their end. The large variety of individual fibers united in such a bundle of fibers permits ion discharge in a very large amount. Particularly suitable for forming such an electrode unit are fiber bundles of carbon fibers, which fibers generally have a diameter of 5 - 8 microns. These fibers also have a sufficiently high rigidity that they remain individualized in their intended arrangement and do not twist with adjacent fibers.
  • a socket can be, for example, a ring-cylindrical socket in which the free ion-emitting end of the fiber bundle or of the individual fibers constituting the fiber bundle are arranged at a distance from the application-side opening of the socket.
  • the distance from the outer boundary of the socket is expediently chosen to be sufficiently large so that a person using the device can not approach the ion-emitting tips of the individual fibers, for example with one finger.
  • the fiber bundle as a whole only has to have a relatively small diameter, to realize the desired ion delivery. It is considered sufficient to use fiber bundles with a diameter of 1 - 3 mm.
  • the at least one electrode unit of the hair-styling or hair-care device has the directional conduction of the ions emitted by the individual fibers of the fiber bundle via at least one guide electrode which is arranged in the region of the application-side opening of the socket.
  • This lead electrode has the same polarity as the ions emitted by the fiber.
  • the ions emitted from the fibers are repelled from the guide electrode.
  • the guide electrode is expediently designed as a ring electrode, wherein it is basically not necessary that in such a design, the guide electrode must be a continuous closed ring body.
  • the guide electrode of each electrode unit is located in the region of the outlet of the holder of the electrode unit, the term "outlet of the holder" meaning the application-side mouth of the appliance.
  • the guide electrode is designed passive working according to a preferred embodiment. In the design of such a guide electrode, the fact that the quantity of ions emitted by the fiber bundles formed from the numerous fibers is utilized is so large that when the first operation of the ion generator device in the application of the device first the guide electrode is charged with the votes of the electrode unit ions before the guide electrode assumes its actual guiding function.
  • a passively designed conducting electrode is, for example, an electrically conductive metal ring which is arranged in the region of the application-side mouth of the electrode holder.
  • Such a guide electrode can also be realized by an already existing component of a hair styling or hair care device, for example by an outer metal sleeve of a hairbrush. Hair brushes sometimes have chromed outer metal sleeves, so that the hair can be moved past this as smoothly as possible. It is understood that the lead electrodes are electrically insulated and not electrically grounded to perform their intended function.
  • the ion generator device In the case of equipping a hair styling or hair care appliance of the type described above with a passively operating guide electrode of the electrode unit, the ion generator device will be actuated one or more times briefly before the actual application to the hair in order to charge the guide electrodes.
  • the guide electrodes can also be actively charged by a generator.
  • such a hair care or hair styling device can be equipped with an ion generator device that is designed to work without air flow. Therefore, the device is designed according to one embodiment as a blow-less hair styling device, which has only heated hair treatment surfaces.
  • a hair styling device is designed as a scissors-like device with two articulated arms pivotable against each other, wherein the two mutually facing sides of the arms each have a heat plate as a hair treatment surface. The heat is produced by a resistance heater or by one or more PTC elements.
  • one or two electrode units suitably sit adjacent to the heated hair treatment area.
  • the electrode devices with their held in a socket fiber bundles are aligned in one direction that the emitted ions is usually transported past the heated hair care plate and to the hair supplied during use of the hair styling device or led away. This serves the purpose that the fired ions are not absorbed by the heated hair treatment surfaces, but are supplied to the hair to be treated.
  • a hair care appliance designated by the reference numeral 1 is designed like a scissor and has two arms 2, 3 connected to one another in an articulated manner.
  • the mutually facing sides of the arms 2, 3 enclose a hair styling gap 4.
  • the mutually facing sides of the arms 2, 3 are formed substantially flat and each carry a heated hot plate as a hair treatment surface 5.

  • the guide electrode 14 is designed passive working in the illustrated embodiment and within the housing 3 and the socket 7, both made of plastic, arranged electrically isolated from other elements.
  • the guide electrode 14 charges with ions emitted by the individual fibers of the fiber bundle 8 of the electrode unit 6.
  • the guide electrode 14 thus has the same polarity as the ions emitted by the electrode unit 6.
  • the ions of the fiber bundle 8 emitted after charging of the guide electrode 14 are repelled or deflected by the guide electrode 14, whereby an undesired further outflow of generated ions is prevented in the housing.
  • the electrode devices 6, 6 ' are aligned such that the electrodes emitted by the fiber bundles 8 are fired past the hair treatment surface 5, at least with their relevant portion.
