Claims (9)

  1. Une unité d'alimentation et de transport de tabac dans une machine pour la fabrication de produits du tabac, comprenant au moins un rouleau de transport (27) mis en rotation autour d'un axe longitudinal (27a) respectif et présentant une pluralité d'aiguilles (28) situées sur une surface périphérique (29) de révolution et orientées radialement dans une direction opposée à l'axe longitudinal (27a) de manière à ce que le tabac (9) puisse être prélevé et acheminé le long d'un parcours prédéfini vers une unité (25) destinée à former au moins un cordon continu (26) de tabac, ladite unité étant caractérisée en ce qu'elle est équipée d'au moins un dispositif de détection (30) servant à vérifier la présence et/ou l'intégrité des aiguilles (28).
  2. L'unité selon la revendication 1, caractérisée en ce que les aiguilles (28) sont réalisées dans un matériau ferromagnétique et en ce que ledit au moins un dispositif de détection (30) comprend au moins un capteur inductif (31) conçu pour détecter une variation de champ magnétique et placé à proximité des aiguilles (28).
  3. L'unité selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisée en ce que le dispositif de détection (30) comprend au moins un groupe de détection (32) qui présente une pluralité de capteurs (31) placés en rangs serrés les uns à côté des autres et faisant face aux aiguilles (28) dudit au moins un rouleau (27).
  4. L'unité selon la revendication 3, caractérisée en ce que ledit au moins un groupe de détection (32) occupe une position fixe, avec les aiguilles (28) passant sous les capteurs (31) pendant la rotation dudit au moins un rouleau (27).
  5. L'unité selon la revendication 3, caractérisée en ce que ledit au moins un groupe de détection (32) s'étend partiellement autour dudit au moins un rouleau (27).
  6. L'unité selon la revendication 3 ou 4, caractérisée en ce que les aiguilles (28) sont disposées selon une pluralité de files (28a) s'étendant chacune autour de la circonférence du rouleau (27) et disposées les unes à côté des autres le long de l'axe (27a) dudit rouleau, et en ce que chaque capteur (31) dudit au moins un groupe de détection (32) est positionné au-dessus d'une des files (28a) d'aiguilles (28).
  7. L'unité selon les revendications de 3 à 6, caractérisée en ce que ledit au moins un groupe de détection (32) présente une face (33) orientée vers les aiguilles (28) et pourvue d'une pluralité de rainures (34), chaque file circonférentielle (28a) d'aiguilles (28) passant dans une rainure (34) respective quand mise en rotation.
  8. L'unité selon les revendications de 3 à 7, caractérisée en ce qu'elle comprend une pluralité de groupes de détection (32) disposés les uns à côté des autres le long de la dimension longitudinale dudit au moins un rouleau (27).
  9. L'unité selon la revendication 8, caractérisée en ce que les groupes constituant la pluralité de groupes de détection (32) sont décalés le long de la dimension circonférentielle dudit au moins un rouleau (27).
