Definitions

  • the invention relates to an earmold or an earmold for behind-the-ear (BTE) devices in the field of hearing acoustics. These devices are often referred to as so-called BTE Secret Ears (SE).
  • BTE Secret Ears SE
  • a relatively short sound tube is used, with which it is possible to significantly reduce the friction losses, in particular of the high-frequency sound component.
  • the sound tube must be positioned exactly in or on the auditory canal, to which an ear piece or an ear mold is regularly used, which is adapted individually to the human anatomy of the ear of the patient to be treated.
  • various forms of earmould have prevailed, with some, namely the so-called “open” BTE earmolds being particularly preferred in order to minimize the risk of misplacing or closing the auditory canal by a "foreign body".
  • This "open" BTE supply has the advantage that the remaining capacity of hearing is impaired as little as possible in their naturalness.
  • SE shell form SE brace form or SE-claw form
  • Ulrich Voogdt Otoplasty - The individual earmould for hearing aid care ..., Volume 2 of the scientific book series “Academy for hearing aid acoustics", Median-Verlag of Killisch-Horn GmbH, 1993.
  • a variant of these common earmoulds is the "open” solution. However, all variants have in common that it is often not possible to reproduce the hearing correction as naturally as possible.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to provide an earmold for "open" BTE restorations, for CI components (cochlear implant microphone systems or CI BTE processors) or BTE tinnitus systems that not only by a minimalized foreign body sensation and good wearing comfort, but primarily characterized by the fact that the natural sound processing in the human ear can be used as genuine as possible, thereby ensuring the highest level of acoustic correction and naturalness of the auditory sensation.
  • CI components cochlear implant microphone systems or CI BTE processors
  • BTE tinnitus systems that not only by a minimalized foreign body sensation and good wearing comfort, but primarily characterized by the fact that the natural sound processing in the human ear can be used as genuine as possible, thereby ensuring the highest level of acoustic correction and naturalness of the auditory sensation.
  • the earmold is first positioned at a point of the auricle, which lies completely outside the cavum conchae.
  • this otoplasty is particularly suitable in addition to "open" standard applications for applications in children with monotony deafness or eg in normal hearing students with a so-called read-spelling weakness in conjunction with so-called FM (frequency modulation) systems in which the Speech signal of the teacher via microphone and a microport system is fed into the ear canal of the hearing impaired child.
  • FM frequency modulation
  • the inventive earmold for media use such as in TV live interviews as a kind of "open In -Ear monitoring "offers, in which case, for example, a simultaneous translation or the speech signal of a Soufflivities are fed under natural conditions as possible in the ear canal.
  • a particular advantage of the earmold is also to be seen in the fact that with respect to the design of the edge of the auricle arc-shaped cross-shaped bracket is a great deal of freedom, which in turn can be used for additional stabilization of the earmold.
  • the development according to claim 2 goes in this direction.
  • the stabilization of the main body is further improved, thereby further reducing the size of the main body. At the same time, this improves the wearing comfort and also has advantages in terms of cosmetics.
  • the embodiment has the advantage that it can be used without complications in special special applications, such as in the case of a very narrow auditory canal or strong terminal hairiness in the ear canal or other anomalies of the ear anatomy.
  • FIGS. 1 to 4 show a first embodiment of the earmold according to the invention.
  • the earmold which is highlighted hatched, is designated by the reference numeral 120. It is arranged so that the Cavum conchae remains completely free. Instead, the otoplastic is arranged in the region of the cymbal conchae 50, in the case shown with an extension in the regions of the crus anthelicis 52, 54.
  • the otoplastic is individually adapted to the anatomy of the patient and consists essentially of two components, namely a holding part 156, which is accommodated positively sunk in the cymbal conchae 50, and a rim 58 of the auricle arc-shaped cross-bracket 160, which at his End forms the holder for the flexible sound tube 128.
  • the sound tube 128 is - as shown in Fig. 2 - angled out into the interior of the ear canal 26 and there, for example, a so-called Cerumdefender 162 wear.
  • This embodiment of the earmold has a small construction volume and it allows - as can be seen in FIG. 2 - the auditory canal virtually unaffected.
  • FIGs. 3 and 4 an inserted earplug is shown enlarged in practice. It clearly shows the multi-curved surface design of the main body, which is responsible for the custom-fit and secure fit in the Cymba conchae.
  • the embodiment of Fig. 3, 4 has been made for a patient in which the Cymba conchae is designed very large volume.
  • FIG. 5 there is shown a further embodiment applied to a patient having a significantly smaller cymbal conchae.
  • the otoplastic designated 220 has a much smaller main body 256, which, however, in turn is spatially curved several times, so that the required undercut with the surface of the ear comes about.
  • Fig. 7 shows a further embodiment of the earmold according to FIGS. 1 to 6. Again, to simplify the description of sections and components that have a counterpart in Fig. 1 to 6, the same reference numerals are used, preceded by a "4" is.
  • edge 458 of the auricle arcuately cross-bracket 460 is pivoted from the direction indicated by dash-dotted line position down.
  • Figs. 8 to 10 show a first embodiment of this modification.
  • Reference numeral 461 denotes a sound tube that stabilizes a sound tube 428.
  • FIGS. 11 and 12 A second variant of the modification of the earmold according to FIG. 7 is shown in FIGS. 11 and 12.
  • the same reference numerals are used to simplify the description for sections and components which have a counterpart in FIGS Preceded by "5".
  • the bracket 560 is even steeper than in the embodiment of FIGS. 8 to 10.
  • FIGS. 13 and 14 A second variant of the modification of the ear mold according to FIG. 7 is shown in FIGS. 13 and 14.
  • FIGS. 13 and 14 A second variant of the modification of the ear mold according to FIG. 7 is shown in FIGS. 13 and 14.
  • the sound tube holder is formed by a located in the upper region of the ear canal auditory canal pin 644 which surrounds the sound tube 628.
  • FIGS. 15 and 16 show a modification of the variants of FIGS. 11 to 14.
  • An ear canal pin 744 is assigned a support device 780.
