Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for operating a Injector for fuel in which a piezoelectric actuator via a hydraulic coupler a Closing member drives. It continues to refer to one Fuel injection system with a number of such Injectors.
- a fuel injection system As an essential ingredient can in one Internal combustion engine for introducing the fuel into the combustion chambers of the cylinder a fuel injection system be used.
- a fuel injection system usually includes a number of injectors, the individually or in the manner of a so-called common-rail system (CR systems) via a central Supply system are fueled with fuel.
- CR systems common-rail system
- each injector is usually in a respective associated injection valve integrated over the fuel injection in a predetermined manner is adjustable.
- the injection valves can be used for an electrical Control be provided with a piezoelectric actuator.
- Such injection valve for the Fuel injection into the combustion chamber of a Combustion engine with a high pressure system or CR system is known from DE 197 328 02.
- This injector is designed in a double-switching manner and has a Closure member, which is in one of two alternative Valve seats are each located in a closed position and thereby causing the injector to close. In a Middle position between the two valve seats takes that Closing member, however, an opening position.
- the Closing member via a piezoelectric actuator drivable.
- the piezoelectric Actuator charged to a drive voltage from the pressure in Common rail system is dependent. Due to the Drive voltage expands the actuator in the longitudinal direction. This length expansion is via a hydraulic coupler transferred to the closure member, so that on the one hand the amplified by the actuator hub is amplified and on the other hand the Closing member of a possible static Temperature expansion of the actuator is decoupled.
- a charge of the piezoelectric actuator thus causes via the hydraulic coupler a transfer of Verschgresgliedes first from the first closed position in the Opening position and then from the opening position in the second closed position.
- a discharge of the piezoelectric actuator due to the associated Contraction in the longitudinal direction via the hydraulic coupler a transfer of Verschnovgliedes first of the second closed position in the open position and then from the open position to the first closed position.
- EP 0 816 670 A1 discloses a fuel injector for common rail systems described in which a hydraulic coupler is provided, which acts on a closure member and is driven by a piezoelectric element.
- From DE 198 04 196 A1 is a method for the evaluation of Characteristics of piezo-mechanical systems known in which a Voltage across a piezoelectric element too Diagnostic purposes is used. This can in particular a wear or a jamming of a control pin or a Injector needle or a pressure drop can be detected.
- EP 0 379 182 A further discloses a driving device for a piezoelectric element, at the beginning of a Control a higher voltage than the usual Control voltage is applied to a large operating force to achieve the piezoelectric element.
- DE 197 33 560 A1 is a method and a Device for charging and discharging a piezoelectric Elements known to have a voltage above the piezoelectric element is measured and this voltage too Diagnostic purposes is used.
- the invention is therefore based on the object, a method for operating an injector for fuel, wherein a piezoelectric actuator via a hydraulic coupler an interlocking member, with which also in the Bouncing the closure member a particularly reliable Fuel injection is guaranteed.
- a for the implementation of the method particularly suitable Fuel injection system can be specified.
- this object is achieved according to the invention solved by the timing of the terminal voltage on monitors the occurrence of a minimum in the course of the curve and / or by the time derivative of the terminal voltage is formed and monitored for a zero crossing.
- the invention is based on the consideration that for a particularly reliable fuel injection a possible Bouncing of the closure member in the formation of control values be considered for the actual injection process should. Namely, such bouncing is delayed the pressure build-up in the injection system, which only start after closing the valve seat can. This results in otherwise constant Parameter an impairment of the opening time of Injection valve and thus the injection quantity. Both Consequences, however, are by adjusting the for the Injection relevant parameters, in particular valve lift and duration of the actual injection, compensatable. With other words, reaching the closed position of the Closing member should be recorded on the basis this setting subsequently adapted control values for the To be able to form injection with which also at occurred bouncing compliance with the specified Injection amount and the predetermined injection timing is guaranteed.
- this can as a suitable parameter, on the basis of which detection of reaching the closed position or the seat recognition can be made, the temporal evolution of the Terminal voltage of the respective actuator can be used.
- the loading phase namely, builds in the hydraulic Coupler a pressure on, which also after completion of the Recharging acts on the piezoelectric actuator and in this case with disconnected power supply one for the Pressure conditions in the coupler and consequently also for the Implementation of the drive voltage in valve lift characteristic piezo voltage generated.
- the Terminal voltage on the piezoelectric actuator can thus without the requirement of a further sensor as a measurement parameter for the valve behavior are used.
- a control parameter of the Derived fuel injection system is from the determined time of reaching the closed position Correction value for a control parameter of the Derived fuel injection system. It can in particular a correction value for the drive voltage of the actuator and / or for the tax time and / or for the duration of the Charging be provided.
- said Problem solved by the actuator of each injector with an associated voltage measuring device is connected, which in turn is the output side to a diagnostic unit is connected, and whereby the temporal course of the Terminal voltage to the occurrence of a minimum in Can be monitored curve and / or the time division of the terminal voltage are formed can and is monitored for a zero crossing.
- the diagnostic unit is to form a statement for Seat recognition of each injector based on the time Course of the determined for this terminal voltage signal intended.
- the evaluation of the time course of the Terminal voltage signal based on the time derivative to be able to make is expediently the Voltage measuring each actor one Assigned differentiator.
- the Diagnostic device in a further expedient embodiment connected to a data storage module.
- the advantages achieved by the invention are in particular, that the monitoring of Terminal voltage in a simple way and without additional constructive effort a timely and reliable Seat recognition possible for each individual injection valve is.
- the fuel injection system can thus also at occurring bouncing a Verschnovgliedes especially be operated reliably, with a bounce after especially immediate corrective action, for example with regard to a tracking of the drive voltage for every actor can be made.
- the injection valve 1 of Figure 1 has a piezoelectric actuator 2, which has a number of comprises piezoelectric elements 4 connected in series.
- the Actuator 2 is on the one hand with a housing wall 6 through which Terminals 7 of the actuator 2 are passed, and on the other hand with a servo piston 8 frictionally connected.
- the actuating piston 8 closes with its from the actuator. 2 facing away from face 9 a hydraulic coupler 10 from.
- the hydraulic coupler 10 in turn acts on a in a connecting channel 12 guided actuator piston 14, on whose end facing away from the coupler 10 end a closing member 16 is arranged.
- This is as double-closing Control valve formed. It closes in a first Closed position, the rest position of the actuator. 2 corresponds to a first valve seat 18 of a valve chamber 20. In a second closed position, the maximum Actuation of the actuator 2 corresponds closes the Closing member 16, however, a second valve seat 22 of the Valve chamber 20.
- Valve chamber 20 connected to a guide channel 24, the On the input side via a connecting piece 26 to a not illustrated pressure channel of a common rail fuel supply system of a motor vehicle connected.
- injection valve 1 but also part of a fuel supply system with be individual feeding of the injectors.
- a nozzle needle 28 is arranged, the a fuel outlet 30 one of the connector 26th branching fuel passage 32 depending on one of the Terminals 7 to the actuator 2 applied drive voltage Ua releases or closes.
- the fitting 26 with a Inlet throttle 34 and the guide channel 24 with a Outflow throttle 36 provided.
- the injection valve 1 is, together with others Injectors 1, part of a fuel injection system 40, as shown schematically in Figure 2. there are the injection valves 1, of which in FIG For clarity, only four are shown, Fuel side to a common supply line 42nd connected.
- the number of for the Fuel injection system 40 provided injectors. 1 depends on the further requirements of the supplying internal combustion engine, in particular, a Injector 1 for each cylinder to be fed be provided.
- a central Control unit 44 For electrical control of the injectors 1 includes the fuel supply system 40 a central Control unit 44. This in turn has a control module 46th on, via lines 48 to the terminals 7 of the Injectors 1 is connected switched off.
- the control unit 44 comprises a diagnostic unit 50 which a number of the injectors 1 respectively assigned and connected to their terminals 7 Voltage measuring 52 is connected.
- everyone Voltage measuring device 52 is a differentiating element 53 assigned in the embodiment as a digital Differentiator formed and in the diagnostic unit is integrated. Alternatively, however, an analogous Differentiating be provided.
- the Control unit 44 a data storage module 54.
- a high pressure which at a Common rail system, for example, between 200 and 1800 bar can amount. This pressure acts against the nozzle needle 28 and keeps it closed so that through the fuel spill 30 no fuel can escape. But if now as a result of applied to the actuator 2 control voltage Ua the Closing member 16 from the first valve seat 18 to the second Valve seat 22 or vice versa is moved, then the builds Pressure in the high pressure region of the guide channel 24 from, so that the nozzle needle 28 in the direction of the valve chamber 20th recedes and releases the fuel outlet 30. In In this case, a fuel injection takes place in the associated cylinder.
- the following described method for seat recognition is otherwise in no way on the detailed structure of the present Injector 1 limited, but can also used in alternatively designed injection valves come.
- control module 46 of the terminals 7 of the actuator 2 separately. Instead of Control module 46 is for the duration of a predefinable Measuring window to the terminals 7 of the actuator 2 the associated voltage measuring device 52 connected, whose Measurement data output to the connected diagnostic unit 50 become.
- the measured data can be directly, for example as analog voltage signal transmitted to the diagnostic unit become.
- a direct occurs in this phase Monitoring the terminal voltage Uk of the actuator 2 as a function the passing time.
- the formation of the time derivative of Terminal voltage Uk of the respective actuator 2 is provided. To the voltage signals become the voltage measuring device 52 assigned differentiating member 53 is supplied. These formed differentiated signals are then to the Diagnostic unit 50 transmitted. In both alternatives will from the temporal behavior of the terminal voltage Uk in the Diagnostic unit 50 to the achievement of the respective Closed position of the closing member 16 closed.
- This time course of the terminal voltage Uk is by way of example for an injection process in FIG. 3 shown.
- a drive voltage Ua to the Terminals 7 of the actuator 2 applied.
- the Drive voltage Ua is initially on the output value 0V an intermediate level of, for example, about 75V increased.
- the drive voltage Ua then to the actual setpoint of, for example, about 200 V brought.
- this charging process terminated by reaching the target voltage.
- the actuator 2 is disconnected from the control module 46 and the terminal voltage Uk from the voltage measuring device 52 detected.
- the injection valve 1 behaves in terms of actually delivered injection quantity and the injection timing in a predictable manner.
- On the Basis of the detection of the time t2 can thus by suitable adaptation of the control parameters for the Injector 1, a predetermined injection amount and a given injection time even when bouncing the Closing member are met.
- the determined behavior of the injectors 1 and the Corrective interventions will continue for later Diagnostic purposes stored in the data storage module 54.
