Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a locking and unlocking mechanism of a motor vehicle door associated with a lock.
  • the keeper generally consists of an axis carried by the vehicle body and the bolt of the lock has the shape of a fork; this bolt is retained in the closed position by a pawl, the rotary operation of which enables the opening of the lock to be controlled.
  • a pawl the rotary operation of which enables the opening of the lock to be controlled.
  • vehicle door locks are generally equipped with interior handles, which can be used to manually open the vehicle door from inside the vehicle. If you close and lock a vehicle, it is obviously possible, by breaking the door window, to act on the interior handle to open the door; it is therefore necessary to electrically control an inhibition of the action of the interior handle on the lock so that, in such a case, the perpetrator cannot unlock the lock. Of course, it is necessary that this "super-condemnation" can be removed electrically by the owner of the vehicle, but it is also necessary, in the event that there is an electrical breakdown, that the shunt of this inhibition can result from an action manual made on the lock, for example by means of the barrel of said lock when fitted.
  • the object of the invention is to propose an embodiment, which is both particularly reliable and more economical than the prior devices.
  • a mechanism for locking and unlocking a motor vehicle door lock said lock being able to take either a "locking" position where external operation is impossible, or a "unlocked” position in which the lock can be operated both from the outside and the inside of the vehicle, that is to say a “super-lock” position in which the lock cannot be operated either from the outside or from the inside of the vehicle, said mechanism comprising a internal lever articulated around an articulation axis and a locking lever articulated around the same articulation axis, a rocker pivotally mounted around an axis parallel to said articulation axis and intended to cooperate with a retaining pawl of the bolt of the lock, characterized in that it further comprises a transfer lever articulated around the articulation axis and cooperating with the rocker for the acti oncement of said rocker and disengageable clutch means to make integral, or not, in rotation the inner lever and the transfer lever, the inner lever and the transfer lever being integral in rotation in the "unlocked” and "lock
  • the disengageable clutch means comprise a plate-shaped clutch member provided with an oblong hole by which the plate is mounted on the articulation axis so that the clutch member can rotate around the articulation axis and move transversely with respect to said articulation axis, said clutch member carrying a clutch pin, the transfer lever having an oblong opening and the internal lever having at one of its ends a notch longitudinal, the clutch pin of the clutch member passing through the oblong opening of the transfer lever and being adapted to cooperate, or not, with the notch of the inner lever according to the transverse position of the clutch member with respect to the axis of articulation.
  • the locking lever is provided with a control tab adapted to cooperate with a tab of the transfer lever.
  • the transfer lever carries a return by which it cooperates with the rocker.
  • the clutch member carries an actuating pin, the clutch pin and the actuating pin being arranged on either side of the plate.
  • the plate extends, on one of its sides, according to an ear making an acute angle with the axis of the oblong hole.
  • the locking lever and the clutch member are actuated electromechanically from a control group comprising an electric motor adapted to move an actuating rod to actuate the locking lever, and an electric motor adapted to moving a clutch lever cooperating with the actuating pin of the clutch member for actuating the latter;
  • position detectors allow the position of the actuating rod and the clutch lever to be displayed on the dashboard.
  • the mechanism is mounted on a rear door and makes it possible to obtain a "child lock” position of the lock, in which the internal lever and the transfer lever are free to rotate, and the lock lever occupies the position that 'it has when the lock is unlocked.
  • the mechanism is mounted on a door not fitted with a key cylinder and further comprises an emergency lever capable of actuating the locking lever; advantageously, the emergency lever comprises two flat articulated parts arranged so that an action in one direction on one has no effect on the other part.
  • the mechanism is mounted on a door, the lock of which is equipped with a barrel which can be operated by a key, and the locking lever carries a stop capable of cooperating with the ear of the clutch member.
  • the present invention also relates to a door lock for a motor vehicle equipped with a locking and unlocking mechanism for the lock as above.
  • the lock is generally contained in a housing the mean plane of which is disposed substantially parallel to the plane of the door; the parallelepiped housing consists of two large front faces and rear, at least one of which constitutes a support plate for the organs of the lock.
  • Said lock comprises a bolt 2 (FIG. 9), articulated around an axis 6, which extends in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the large faces of the lock housing and which is in the form of a fork with two arms 2A, 2B; the keeper is constituted by an axis 1 parallel to the axis 6 of the bolt 2 and carried by the vehicle body; the bolt 2 is retained in position by a tooth 3A carried by a retaining pawl 3 articulated around an axis 5; the rotary actuation of the pawl 3 around the axis 5, by action for example on a transverse stud 7 carried by the pawl 3 or on its end tab 60, allows the opening of the lock from the outside or from the interior of the vehicle; more precisely, when the door is open, the bolt 2 is in the position shown in solid lines in FIG.
  • the keeper 1 being at a distance from the bolt 2; by closing the door, for example by slamming it, the bolt 2, carried by the door approaches the keeper 1, carried by the body, which penetrates inside the fork of the bolt 2; by action on the arm 2B of the bolt 2, the keeper 1 rotates the bolt 2 about its axis 6 until the arm 2A exceeds the tooth 3A of the pawl 3; the pawl 3, biased by a spring, not shown, counterclockwise, rocks so that its tooth 3A comes to hold the arm 2A of the bolt 2; in Figure 9, the keeper 1 and the bolt 2 are shown in phantom in the closed position; the tooth 3A has an inclined face 3B facilitating the passage of the arms 2A, 2B in front of the tooth 3A.
  • the opening is obtained by a vertical action, upwards relative to FIG. 9, on the stud 7 of the pawl 3.
  • a box 10 secured to a vehicle door includes a support plate 11 extending parallel to the plane of the door and on which a hinge pin 12 is fixed.
  • a first lever Around the articulation axis 12 is articulated a first lever called the inner lever 13; the inner lever 13 has a general shape of a very open V, the two wings of which, on either side of the articulation axis 12, respectively constitute a first lower end 14 relative to FIG. 1 and a second upper end 16; the lower end 14 has an orifice hooking 15, while the upper end 16 has a longitudinal notch 17.
  • a second lever called the locking lever 20; in FIG. 1, the central part of the locking lever 20, by which said lever is articulated on the hinge pin 12, has been removed to facilitate understanding of the drawing; the locking lever 20 has, see Figures 1 and 2, a flat portion called control 23 provided with a latching lug 21 and a control tab 22 extending perpendicular to the plane of the control portion 23; the locking lever 20 also has an articulation portion 24 parallel to the control portion 23 to which it is connected by an intermediate portion 25 perpendicular to the plane of the control portions 23 and of articulation 24.
  • a transfer lever 30 of generally planar shape.
  • the transfer lever 30 has an oblong opening 31, the large parallel sides of which are spaced by a transverse clearance equal to that which separates the parallel edges of the notch 17 of the internal lever 13.
  • a clutch member 40 is in the form of an elongated plate 41 provided with an oblong hole 42 whose long parallel sides are at a distance equal, apart from the mounting clearance, to the diameter of the axis of articulation 12 so that, when the clutch member 40 is mounted on the hinge pin 12, the clutch member 40 can not only rotate around the hinge pin 12 but also move transversely by relative to said articulation axis 12.
  • the plate 41 carries on one of its faces a so-called clutch pin 43 and, on the other of its faces, a so-called actuation pin 44; in the example shown, the clutch 43 and actuation pins 44 are part of the same cylindrical part which passes through the plate 41 and which is crimped onto said plate 41.
  • the plate 41 is extended according to a so-called control lug 45 extending along an axis which makes an acute angle with the longitudinal axis of the oblong hole 42.
  • a rocker 50 is pivotally mounted about an axis 51 carried by the support plate 11 and parallel to the hinge axis 12; the lever 50 is in the form of a lever having, on either side of the axis 51, respectively, a rounded end 52 and an arm 53; the arm 53 is intended to cooperate with the tab 60 of the retaining pawl 3 of the lock.
  • the mechanism comprising the parts which have just been described is arranged in the following manner.
  • the clutch pin 43 passes through the oblong opening 31 of the transfer lever 30, and its length is such that it extends transversely beyond the upper end 16 of the inner lever 13 provided with the notch 17; said upper end 16 extends at a distance from the hinge pin 12 such that, when the clutch member 40 is in its highest position relative to the hinge pin 12, the pin d 'clutch 43 can not cooperate with the notch 17: this is the position shown in Figure 2; in this position of Figure 2, the inner lever 13 and the transfer lever 30 can rotate about the hinge axis 12 independently of one another; it will be readily understood that, when the clutch member 40 is in its lowest position, with respect to FIG. 2, authorized and limited by the oblong hole 42, the clutch pin extends in the notch 17 of the internal lever 13 which is therefore secured in rotation with the transfer
  • the locking lever 20 and the transfer lever 30 are placed in such a way on the articulation axis 12 that the control tab 22 of the locking lever 20 and the tab 33 of the transfer lever 30 are capable of cooperating in abutment. ; the return 32 of the transfer lever 30 is arranged so that it is capable of cooperating with the rounded end 52 of the rocker 50 which can therefore be actuated by rotation of the transfer lever 30.
  • the ear of control 45 of the clutch member 40 is capable of cooperating with a stop 26 carried by the locking lever 20.
  • the locking lever 20 and the clutch member 40 are actuated electromechanically from a control group; such a group 70 is shown in Figure 7; it includes in particular an electric motor 71 whose motor shaft 72 drives in translation, by means of a gear transmission assembly 73, an actuating rod 74 whose end 75 is connected to the lug of hooking 21 of the locking lever 20; a position detector 76 sensitive to the position of the actuating rod 74 makes it possible to control means, not shown, which display the latter.
  • the control group 70 also includes another electric motor 81 called a clutch motor whose motor shaft 82 allows, by means of a gear transmission assembly 83, to pivot, around an axis 87, a clutch lever 84, the end of which carries an orifice 85 adapted to cooperate with the actuation pin 44 of the clutch member 40 for actuation thereof; the clutch lever 84 can occupy two positions: the position in solid lines 84-85 and the position in broken lines 84A-85A, these two positions corresponding respectively to the two low and high positions of the clutch member 40, according to Figure 2; in the dashed line position 84A-85A, the clutch lever 84 cooperates with a position detector 86 which controls means, not shown, for displaying this position.
  • a clutch motor whose motor shaft 82 allows, by means of a gear transmission assembly 83, to pivot, around an axis 87, a clutch lever 84, the end of which carries an orifice 85 adapted to cooperate with the actuation pin 44 of the clutch member 40
  • the door on which is mounted the lock comprising the mechanism which has just been described is equipped with an external handle which acts on the lock by means not shown; these means are however arranged so that, when the locking lever 20 is made inoperative under the conditions described below, the outer handle is also inoperative with respect to the lock.
  • the door is also equipped with an interior handle which acts, via a wheelhouse, not shown, directly on the interior lever 13.
  • the electromechanical control group 70 is implemented by remote control, for example by infrared; as we have seen, the electric motor 71 is associated with the internal lever 20 and the electric motor 81 is associated with the clutch member 40; the remote control may have only a single push button making it possible to generate a single pulse to operate the electric motor 71, and two pulses to operate the electric motor 81; the electronic means associated with the remote control and with the electrical supply circuits of the motors 71 and 81 are arranged sequentially so that, as will be seen below, a control of the lock in the "super-lock” position n It is possible that if the lock is in the "locking" position, and, conversely, "unlocking" the lock is only possible provided that the "super-locking" position has been previously inhibited.
  • lock positions can be obtained electrically from inside the vehicle, using two independent impulse buttons, for example, a "lock” button, and a "lock-on children” button.
  • the stopper 19, common to the transfer lever 30 and the inner lever 13, ensures the coincidence of the notch 17 of the inner lever 13 and the oblong opening 31, which will make it possible, when necessary, to simultaneously introduce therein and without difficulty the clutch pin 43 of the clutch member 40.
  • the clutch member 40 In this position of "super- locking ", the clutch member 40 is in the high position and the clutch pin 43 is outside the notch 17.
  • the locking lever 20 is in its so-called" low "position in which the lug 21 is in the lowest position, with respect to FIG. 1, the control tab 22 of the locking lever 20 being supported on the tab 33 of the transfer lever 30.
  • the mechanism according to the invention is simple, reliable and economical to produce, and uses a certain number of components of the prior art, such as for example, the housing 10, the rocker 50, the locking lever 20; the control group 70 is obtained from a control group of the prior art to which has been added an electric motor 81 and the members associated with it.
  • the mechanism according to the invention also has the advantage that it makes it possible to obtain electrically, in a simple manner, the "child-lock” function; it suffices to provide, for the rear doors, locking levers 20 without stop 26; consequently, the control of the operation of the clutch electric motor 81 causes the clutch member 40 to rise, the lug 45 of which is not hindered in this movement due to the absence of a stop 26, and therefore the separation in rotation of the inner lever 13 and the transfer lever 30; in this “child lock” position of the lock, shown in FIG. 6, any action on the internal lever 13 is inoperative; on the other hand, taking into account the "high" position of the locking lever 20, it is possible to open the door by action on the external handle.
  • the door locks comprise a manual locking member disposed on the interior face of the door and often called a "floppye pull"; the mechanism according to the invention makes it possible to dispense with such a locking member, which is an additional advantage.
  • doors not fitted with a barrel like the rear doors, are, according to the invention, equipped with an emergency lever for locking; such a lever can be placed in the edge of the door and accessible; of course, in view of this accessibility, it must be able to perform the "locking" function but must not allow unlocking, by reverse action, the door which is equipped with it.
  • the lever 90 comprises two cut flat parts 91 and 93 both articulated around an axis 95 carried by the door; the first part 91 has a notch 92 elongated circumferentially relative to a circle centered on the axis 95 adapted to receive a stud 94 carried by the second part 93; the end of the first part 91 which is opposite the notch 92 cooperates with the locking lever 20; it can be seen that, thanks to this arrangement, manual action on the second part 93 in one direction, that of arrow F, causes the lever 90 to tilt around the axis 95 which in parallel actuates the locking lever 20; this direction corresponds to the positioning in the "locking" position of the lock thus equipped, that is to say that, by this action, the locking lever 20 passes from the "high" position which it occupies in FIG.
