In Verbindung mit einer Führung innerhalb des Haltergehäuses ermöglicht die entsprechende Wahl des Konturverlaufes wenigstens eines der Längsränder der Türhaltestange eine Steuerung deren tatsächlichen Bewegungsverlaufes an einer wählbaren Stelle, insbesondere der Austrittsstelle an der Fahrzeugkarosserie und/oder der Eintrittsstelle an der Fahrzeugtüre dahingehend, daß ein im wesentlichen auf die Breite der Türhaltestange begrenzter Aus-bzw. Eintrittsschlitz in der Karosserie-bzw. Türseitenwandung für den Durchtritt der Türhaltestange ausreichend ist. Der in der Zeichnung dargestellte Kraftwagentürfeststeller umfaßt eine aus einem Flachmaterialzuschnitt gebildete Türhaltestange 1, welche einerseits um eine zur Scharnierachse 2 parallele Achse 3 an einem am Türkörper angeordneten Lagerbock 4 angelenkt ist und andererseits mit ihrem freien Ende 5 in einem an der Fahrzeugkarosserie befestigten Haltergehäuse 6 geführt ist. Die Türhaltestange 1 ist an ihrem einen Längsrand 7 mit im Abstand voneinander angeordneten Rastausnehmungen 8 versehen und weist an ihrem anderen Längsrand 9 einen etwa S-förmigen Konturverlauf auf. An ihrem freien Ende 5 ist die Türhaltestange 1 mit einem Endanschlagpuffer 10 ausgestattet, welcher vermittels eines Spannhülse 11 an der Türhaltestange 1 befestigt ist. Über den Endanschlagpuffer 10 ist das freie Ende 5 der Türhaltestange 1 in einem im Haltergehäuse 6 ausgebildeten und über einen Teil seiner Länge hin um eine zur Scharnierachse 2 parallele Achse gekrümmten Führungskanal 12 geführt. Die Krümmung des Führungskanales 12 ist dabei zur Schwenkrichtung der Fahrzeugtüre um die Scharnierachse 2 gegensinnig ausgerichtet. Am außenliegenden Ende des Führungskanales 12 sind hintereinanderliegend ein Anschalgpuffer 13 und eine Feststelleinrichtung 14 angeordnet. Der Anschlagpuffer 13 besteht dabei aus einem Polster 15 aus einem elastischen Material und einer im Querschnitt U-förmigen Abdeckung 16 aus einem Metallteil, wobei die Abdeckung 16 mit einem Durchtritts schlitz für die Türhaltestange 1 versehen ist. Die Feststelleinrichtung ist insgesamt in einem Gehäuse 17 aufgenommen, wobei die bezüglich des Führungskanales 12 innenliegende Wandung des Gehäuses 17 zugleich die Abstützung für das Polster 15 des Anschlagpuffers 13 bildet. Die Feststelleinrichtung selbst besteht aus einer um eine feststehende Achse 18 drehbar angeordneten Rastrolle 19, welche mit den Rastausnehmungen 8 der Türhaltestange 1 zusammenwirkt und einer Belastungsrolle 20, welche innerhalb des Gehäuses 17 quer zur Türhaltestange 1 verschieblich geführt und mittels eines Druckfeder 21 federbelastet ist. Im Bereich ihrer Anlenkung an der Fahrzeugtüre ist die Türhaltestange 1 mit einer Abwinkelung 22 versehen, über welche sie an den Lagerbock 4 angeschlossen ist. Wie aus der Figur 1 der Zeichnung ersichtlich genügt für den Durchtritt einer solcherart ausgebildeten und gesteuerten Türhaltestange 1 eine im wesentlichen auf deren Breite beschränkte Schlitzöffnung 23 in der Karosserie-bzw. Türwandung, welche mit verhältnismäßig einfachen Mitteln 24 abgedichtet werden kann.
Das Haltergehäuse 6 besteht aus zwei Halbschalen, die in seitlich ausladenenden Flanschbereichen 25 mit Durchtrittsausnehmungen 26 für Befestigungsmittel versehen sind und ist insgesamt innerhalb der Fahrzeugkarosserie angeordnet und befestigt. Die beiden Halbschalen des Haltergehäuses 6 sind mit sickenartigen Eindrückungen 27 versehen, welche den Führungskanal 12 begrenzen. Im der gezeigten Ausführungsform ist das Haltergehäuse 6 als Fußstütze ausgebildet und in, im Einzelnen nicht gezeigter Weise am Bodenblech des Fahrgastraumes eines Kraftwagens angeordnet.
