Abstract

Se suministran composiciones de resina de polipropileno que son útiles en la producción de artículos termoformados y películas de polipropileno orientadas biaxialmente (BOPP), cintas y fibras. Las resinas de la presente invención son mezclas de homopolímero de polipropileno de alta cristalinidad (solubles bajos) y un copolímero aleatorio de etileno/propileno (RCP). Estas mezclas se pueden utilizar para reemplazar homopolímeros de polipropileno de grado BOPP de solubles altos estándar. Adicionalmente, el uso de homopolímeros de polipropileno de alta cristalinidad en las mezclas imparte rigidez mejorada a las películas terminadas mientras mantiene buen procesamiento de las mezclas. Dichas composiciones de polipropileno son producidas efectivamente por medio de mezclado en reactor de un homopolímero de propileno de alta cristalinidad y un copolímero aleatorio de propileno/etileno.
