Abstract

Se trata el tabaco antes o durante el proceso de curado para disminuir o eliminar las poblaciones bacterianas y/o actividad bacteriana, crecimiento de hongos, y/o nitrosaminas específicas del tabaco o niveles de endotoxinas bacterianas en el tabaco curado, en el que se trata el tabaco con una cantidad efìcaz de una solución de lavado. E1 tabaco curado al aire se puede curar en ciatro semanas o menos cuando se lo trata con una solución de lavado de sales de bicarbonato.
