Description

The invention relates to a device for cleaning eating and drinking utensils and/or bulky cooking and baking utensils.

Devices are known for cleaning and drying dinner and drinking dishes, consisting of plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, etc. The cleaning chamber is designed for standardized dishes. These dishwashers are also suitable for bulky cooking and baking dishes, such as pots, pans, cake tins, sieves, etc., although only a small amount of dishes can be accommodated in the cleaning chamber. The items are placed in dish baskets made of stainless steel.

The machines are fully automatic and usually work in four steps: pre-rinse with cold water, clean with hot water with the addition of detergent, intermediate rinse, final rinse with relaxed heated water. Depending on how dirty the items are, the process can be shortened to fewer steps. The dishes are cleaned simultaneously from above and below with powerful water jets from rotating wide jets. The water is freed of limescale in a softener. A circulation pump conveys the water required for each step and presses it into the wide jets. It is freed of coarse suspended matter through a sieve in the base.

However, such dishwashers are not suitable for bulky cooking and baking utensils, as the crockery baskets are designed for standardized plates and cups and are therefore already filled with a small number of pots. The water pressure of the washing nozzles must also be limited because of fragile wine and champagne glasses, for example. This means that heavily soiled pots are not cleaned properly. If the eating and drinking utensils are combined with the cooking and baking utensils during a washing process, streaks can form on fine wine and champagne glasses, which are caused by the oily and greasy dirt residues of the

Cooking and baking utensils. Therefore, heavily soiled pots usually have to be pre-washed by hand. This ultimately leads to heavily soiled, bulky cooking and baking utensils being washed entirely by hand, as such dishwashers are only suitable for standardized eating and drinking utensils.

Accordingly, it is the object of the present invention to further develop a device for cleaning dishes in such a way that both the eating and drinking dishes as well as the cooking and baking dishes are optimally cleaned.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the device has at least one first rinsing chamber specially adapted for cleaning eating and drinking utensils and a second rinsing chamber specially adapted for cleaning more heavily soiled, bulky cooking and baking utensils, the second rinsing chamber being fed with the waste water from the first rinsing chamber.

The solution according to the invention has the advantage that the eating and drinking utensils are arranged in dish baskets according to standard specifications, as in conventional dishwashers, and are cleaned as before using rotating wide-beam jets under normal washing pressure. This less dirty washing water is fed into the second room in order to wash the more heavily soiled, bulky cooking and baking utensils.

Cleaning. Both the technology and the rinsing water are used for both rooms. Before the rinsing water is used again in the second rinsing room, additional fresh rinsing water can be added and stronger cleaning agents than those used for the eating and drinking dishes can be added. The water pressure of the rinsing water can be increased in the second rinsing room to achieve better cleaning. In addition, dish racks and the rinsing rooms can be better designed for the special requirements of large pots and bulky bakeware.

In a particularly advantageous development of the invention, technical equipment for the first washing area, e.g. a changeover valve, a feed pump and a waste water pump, are used for the second washing area for cleaning heavily soiled, bulky cooking and baking utensils. This means that no further costly technology is required for the second washing area. Because the water circuit is first conducted in the first washing area and then via a continuous flow heater into the second washing area, water and detergent can be saved in addition to the technology.

The special design of the second washing chamber allows for a better position of the cooking and baking utensils in relation to the washing jet. The special design of the

The second rinsing compartment also enables increased efficiency when cleaning heavily soiled cookware and bakeware. The functional separation into the first and second rinsing compartments means that the respective cleaning process can be adapted to different needs.

In one embodiment, both washing chambers are provided in a single machine and can be closed, for example, via a single front flap. In another embodiment, a dishwasher with a conventional washing chamber is followed by another machine, with the other machine having the second washing chamber. The other machine can be placed next to the first, but it can also be placed at a distance from it. It is then connected to the first machine via special washing water supply and drainage lines and electrical cables.

Two embodiments are described in more detail below with reference to the attached drawings. They show:

Figure 3 shows a third embodiment of the device according to the invention with a first overhead washing chamber for cleaning eating and drinking utensils and a second underneath washing chamber for cleaning cooking and baking utensils.

Figures 1 and 3 show the device 1 according to the invention for cleaning dishes. The device 1 has a first washing chamber 2 for cleaning eating and drinking dishes 3 and a second washing chamber 4 for cleaning cooking and baking dishes 5. In the first washing chamber 2, the eating and drinking dishes 3 are arranged in dish baskets 7 and 8 mounted on telescopic rails 6 for standardized plate, cup and glass sizes. An upper wide-beam jet 10 and a lower wide-beam jet 11 are arranged so that they can rotate in order to spray the washing water onto the dirty eating and drinking dishes 3 via spray nozzles 12.

The second washing chamber 4 for cleaning cooking and baking utensils 5 has a crockery basket 15 that is suitable for holding the bulky cooking and baking utensils 5. Spray nozzles 16 are arranged on an inner wall 17 of the second washing chamber 4 in order to spray the washing water under high pressure onto the heavily soiled cooking and baking utensils 5. A continuous flow heater 22, a feed and waste water pump 23 and a changeover valve 24 are housed in a device base 21. In the embodiment of Figure 1, the first washing chamber 2 is on the left and the second washing chamber 4 is on the right. In the embodiment of Figure 3, the first washing chamber 2 is on the top and the second washing chamber 4 is on the bottom. The washing chambers 2 and 3 are, however, located in one machine.

Figure 2 shows a second embodiment of the device 40 according to the invention for cleaning dishes. The device 40 has a first washing chamber 42 arranged in a first dishwasher 41 for cleaning eating and drinking dishes 43 and a second washing chamber 45 arranged in a second dishwasher 44 for cleaning cooking and baking dishes 46. The first dishwasher 41 is designed like a conventional dishwasher, with the dish baskets 48, 49 and 50 mounted on telescopic rails 47 being adapted to standardized plate, cup and glass sizes. Wide jets 59 with spray nozzles 60 can be rotated about a vertical central axis.

To supply the second dishwasher 44, technical devices 62, 63, 64 that are only provided in the first dishwasher 41 are connected to the base 66 of the second dishwasher 44 via connecting means, such as hoses and connecting cables. Device for cleaning eating and drinking utensils (3, 43) and/or bulky cooking and baking utensils (5, 46), characterized in that the device (1, 40) has at least one first rinsing chamber (2, 42) specially adapted for cleaning the eating and drinking utensils (3, 43) and a second rinsing chamber (4, 45) specially adapted for cleaning the bulky cooking and baking utensils (5, 46), and that the waste water from the first rinsing chamber (2, 42) can be fed to the second rinsing chamber (4, 45). 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the first washing chamber (2) and the second washing chamber (4) are arranged in the same dishwasher. 3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the first washing chamber (42) is arranged in a first dishwasher (41) and the second washing chamber (45) is arranged in a second dishwasher (44). 4.
