Die Erfindung geht aus von einer Verpackungsmaschine nach dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1. Dies geschieht deshalb, weil die Rundschnur 21 in den vierlagigen Bereichen 28 stärker verformt wird als in den zweilagigen Bereichen 29. Somit wird auch in den zweilagigen Bereichen 28 der Packstoff selbst bei relativ geringen Anpressdrücken der Siegelbacken 12, 13 oder relativ geringen Schwexßtemperaturen sicher verschweißt. Die Rundschnur 21 bewirkt also eine Anlage des {zweilagigen) Packstoffes an der Stirnfläche 17 der Siegelbacke 13.
