Zusätze für Schmiermittel
(iegenstand des Patents 925 192 ist die Yenvendung
organischer Nitroverbindungen mid öllöslicher
Di- bzw. Polysulfide von Xanthogenaten als Zusätze zu Schmiermitteln auf Mineralölbasis.
Es ist bereits bekannt. Polysulfide,wie ζ.B.Diacetylsulfid,
Diphenylsulfide, deren substituierte Derivate sowie höhere Sulfide, Diarylsurfi.de, Diaryldisulfide,
Triarylsulfide und deren kernsubstituierte Produkte sowie p-Isobutyl-Diphenolsulfid als Hochdruckschiniermittelzusätze
zu verwenden. Ferner ist die Verwendung von Schwefelverbindungen auf Sulfidbasis mit organischen Nitroverbindungen,
vorteilhaft im Mengenverhältnis von 1 : 2 bis 2:1, bekannt.
Es wurde gefunden, daß die Verwendung von Alischungen aus organischen Nitroverbindungen
und, an Stelle öllöslicher Di- bzw. Polysulfide von Xanthogenaten, öllöslichen oder durch Lösungsvermittler in Lösung zu bringenden organischen
Schwefelverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel R- (S')„ -R, in der R Wasserstoff oder einen Alkyl-,
Cycloalkyl-, Aryl-, Aralkyl- oder heterocyclischen Rest, der geradkettig oder verzweigt, gesättigt oder
ungesättigt, substituiert oder nicht substituiert sein kann sowie gegebenenfalls noch Metalle, beispielsweise
Zinn oder Zink, enthält, und η eine Zahl von ι bis 5 oder höher bedeuten als Zusätze zu Schmiermitteln
auf der Basis von natürlichen und svnthe-
tischen Mineralölen und -fetten eine ganz wesentliche Verbesserung ihrer Hochdruckschmierfähigkeit
bewirkt, wenn die Zusatzmischung bis zu io Gewichtsprozent Nitroverbindungen, bezogen
auf die Schwefelverbindungen, enthält.
Geeignete organische Nitroverbindungen sind im Patent 925 192 beschrieben.
Geeignete organische Schwefelverbindungen der
allgemeinen Formel R- (S)n -R sind unter anderen
Thiodiglykol, Thiodiglykolsäureester, Thiodipropionsäurebutylester,
Didodecyldisulfid, Diamyltrisulfid, Di-/:?, ß'-oxäthyldisulfid, Diäthyloxyäthyldisulfid,
Di-(thiopropionsäurebutylester), Dibenzyldisulfid, Dihexylphenoldisulfid, Di - tert. - butylkresoldisulfid,
Dibenzolthiazoldisulfid.
Geeignete Lösungsvermittler sind z. B. 2-Äthylhexanol,
2-Äthyl-i, 3-hexandiol, 2-Methyl-pentandiol-i,
4, Diäthylenglykolmonoätliyläther, Diäthylenglykolmonobutyläther.
ao Die im einzelnen anzuwendenden Mengen an Nitroverbindungen und organischen Schwefelverbindungen
und die jeweils zu verwendenden Verbindungen richten sich nach dem Verwendungszweck,
wobei der Anteil der Nitroverbindungen nur einen Bruchteil der verwendeten organischen
Schwefelverbindungen (bis zu 10 Gewichtsprozent derselben) beträgt, von denen, je nach der geforderten
Hochdruckschmierfähigkeit, im allgemeinen Mengen zwischen etwa 0,5 und 10 Gewic'htsprozent,
bezogen auf das reine Schmiermittel, in Betracht kommen.
Die neuen. Nitroverbindungen und organische Schwefelverbindungen enthaltenden Schmiermittel
zeigen gegenüber Metallen bei normalen Temperatüren keine, bei erhöhten Temperaturen und
längeren Einwirkungszeiten nur geringfügige, praktisch nicht ins Gewicht fallende Korrosionserscheinungen. Den durch die erwähnten Zusätze
verbesserten Schmiermitteln können noch andere Mittel zur Verbesserung der Hochdruckschmierfähigkeit
sowie Viskositätsverbesserer, Stockpunktserniedriger, Schaumverhinderer und gegebenenfalls
Antioxydationsmittel zugesetzt werden. Überprüft man die Hochdruckschmierfähigkeit
auf dem allgemein gebräuchlichen Vierkugelapparat (VKA) nach der in »Öl und Kohle«, 1944, S. 19
bis 23, beschriebenen Methode, so sind bei Zusatz von beispielsweise 1 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent an
organischen Schwefelverbindungen zusammen mit organischen Nitroverbindungen, deren Menge bis
zu 10 Gewichtsprozent der eingesetzten Schwefelverbindungen beträgt, Belastungen von 400 bis
über 1000 kg möglich, bevor ein Verschweißen der Kugeln eintritt.
D Beispiel 1
Ein Getriebeöl mit einer VKA-Zahl unter 180
(Dichte d'/ = 0,9320, Viskosität bei 200
= 2260 E, bei 500 = 22,5° E, Viskositätsindex
— 13, Stockpunkt —130) wird durch Zugabe von
0,25 Gewichtsprozent Dinitrophenol bezüglich seiner Hochdruckschmierfähigkeit nicht verbessert.
Werden dem reinen Getriebeöl 5% Di-tert.-butylkresoldisulfid zugesetzt, so steigt die VKA-Zahl auf
320; setzt man noch 0,25 Gewichtsprozent Dinitrophenol hinzu, so steigt die VKA-Zahl auf 800.
Setzt man dem gleichen Getriebeöl wie unter Beispiel 1 beschrieben 5 Gewichtsprozent eines
Cyclohexanondisulfids zu, so erhält man eine VKA-Zahl von 300. Durch Zusatz von 0,25 Gewichtsprozent
/?-Dinitrophenol steigt die VKA-Zahl auf 550, während durch Zusatz von 0,25 Gewichtsprozent
/J-Dinitrophenol allein zu dem reinen Mineralöl
keine Verbesserung der Hochdruckschmierfähigkeit erzielt wird.
Man hat bereits Mischungen aus Schwefelverbindungen auf Sulfidbasis mit Nitroverbindungen,
vorteilhaft im Mengenverhältnis von 1 : 2 bis 2:1, als Zusätze für Schmiermittel auf Mineralölbasis
vorgeschlagen. Die mit den bekannten Zuätzen, wie z. B. ι Teil Dilauryldisulfid im Gemisch mit
2/3 Teilen orNitronaphthalin, hergestellten Schmiermittel ergeben bei der Prüfung auf dem Vierkugelapparat
jedoch höchstens VKA-Zahlen von 200 bis
250, wenn dem Schmiermittel auf Mineralölbasis 5 Gewichtsprozent der vorstehenden Mischung zugesetzt
werden. Demgegenüber war nicht vorauszusehen, daß die erfindungsgemäßen Zusatzmischungen,
die nur bis zu 10 Gewichtsprozent organischer Nitroverbindungen, bezogen auf die
Schwefelverbindungen, enthalten, ein wesentlich höheres Ansteigen der VKA-Zahl bewirken.
Claims (1)
- PATENTANSPRUCH:Weitere Ausbildung des Gegenstandes des Patents 925 192, gekennzeichnet durch die Verwendung einer Mischung von öllöslichen oder durch Lösungsvermittler in Lösung zu bringenden organischen Schwefelverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel R-(S)n-R, in der R Wasserstoff oder einen Alkyl-, Cycloalkyl-, Aryl-, Aralkyl- oder heterocyclischen Rest, der geradkettig oder verzweigt, gesättigt oder ungesättigt, substituiert oder nicht substituiert sein kann und gegebenenfalls noch Metalle, beispielsweise Zinn oder Zink, enthält, und ■;;■ eine Zahl von 1 bis 5 oder höher bedeuten, mit organischen Nitroverbindungen, letztere in Mengen bis zu 10 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf die Schwefelverbindungen, als Zusätze für Schmiermittel.Angezogene Druckschriften: Britische Patentschriften 455 305, 669 206; USA.-Patentschrift Nr. 2574994; Journ. of the Inst, of Petroleum (1948), S. 063; Erdöl u.
