Description
- Schmiermittel Zusatz zum Patent 903 49$ Im Patent 903,496 ist gezeigt, daß Ätheralkohole, die aus höherwertigen Alkoholen mit 3 oder mehr Kohlenstoffatomen im Molekül und Alkylenoxyden oder den entsprechenden Halogenhydrinen, gegebenenfalls unter Mitwirkung von Kondensationsmitteln, erhältlich sind, sich vorzüglich als Schmiermittel für solche Zwecke eignen, bei denen es auf eine Beständigkeit der Schmiermittel bei verhältnismäßig hohen Temperaturen und hzw. oder auf eine hohe Tragfähigkeit des Schmiermittelfilms ankommt. Die genannten Stoffe eignen sich insbesondere für die Schrnierung von Verbrennungskraftmaschinen und von Getrieben, wie auch von hochbelasteten Lagern.
- Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man ähnliche wertvolle Ergebnisse erzielt, wenn man solche Ätheralkohole verwendet, die sieh von Glykol ableiten und aus diesem durch Behandlung mit Alkylenoxyden oder den entsprechenden Halogenhydrinen, gegebenenfalls unter Mitwirkung von Kondensationsmitteln, erhältlich sind. Hinsichtlich der Eigenschaften dieser Ätheralkohole und ihrer Ver- Wendungsmöglichkeiten .gilt sinngemäß das im Hauptpatent Gesagte.
- Beispiel In 62o Gewichtsteilen Glykol wird i Teil Natrium gelöst. Hierzu werden im Autoklav bei 40° insgesamt 396o Teile Äthylenoxyd in Anteilen von je etwa 3oo Teilen aufgepreßt. Man erhält ein braunes wasserlösliches öl mit dem Stockpunkt i0°, einer Viskosität von i7,4° E bei 2o° und von .I,2° E_ bei 5o' und dem Viskositätsindex io5.
Claims (1)
- PATENTANSPRUCH: Verwendung von Ätheralkoholen, die sich von Glykol und Alkylenoxyden oder den entsprechenden Halogenhydrinen ableiten, als Schmiermittel, die hohen Temperaturen ausgesetzt werden und bzw. oder hohe Tragfähigkeit haben müssen.
