Die beiliegende Zeichnung zeigt die Verbindung eines Wasserleitungshahnes mit einer Durchlafs-
und Geruchsverschlufsklappe für Wasser-Closets. The accompanying drawing shows the connection of a water tap with a through-hole
and odor trap for water closets.
Bei dem Wasser-Einlafsventil c ist die Spindel D unterhalb des Ventils fortgeführt und geht
diese Verlängerung im unteren geschlossenen Theile des Gehäuses E durch eine Stopfbüchse,
unterhalb welcher die Verlängerung mit einer Stange N verbunden ist. Letztere greift mit
ihrem unteren Ende in einen länglichen Schlitz des Schenkels R eines doppelarmigen Hebels O,
der sich im Knaggen P dreht. Der andere und längere Schenkel 5 des Hebels O führt sich in
einem Schlitz der in der Klappe U angegossenen' Nase V. Die Klappe U sitzt in einem Rohr W,
welches unten halbrund, oben quadratisch ist, und welches zwischen dem Abflufsrohr X der
Schale oder des Beckens und dem Abführungsoder Abfallrohr Y eines Closets eingesetzt wird.
Das Rohr W ist noch mit dem cylindrischen Aufsatz Z versehen, in welchem sich die Stange N
befindet und der oben das Ventilgehäuse E trägt. An diesem Aufsatz Z ist eine durch eine Platte
zu verschliefsende Oeffhung A' angebracht, durch
welche es ermöglicht wird, Zugang zu der Muffe Bi zu erlangen. Diese MuffeB1 hat rechts
und links Gewinde, so dafs durch einfaches Drehen derselben eine genaue Uebereinstimmung
zwischen Schlufs des Ventils C und Schlufs der Klappe U erzielt werden kann. Durch den
Schlitz in der Nase V der Klappe U ist es möglich, dafs die Klappe etwas früher schliefst als
das Ventil, so dafs dadurch stets etwas Wasser auf dem Boden des Rohres X verbleibt und
auch vor Oeffnen der Klappe dem Wasser der Eintritt in das Becken gestattet wird, wodurch
eine vollständige Spülung desselben erzielt wird. Drückt man nun auf den Knopf G des
Hahnes E, so wird das Ventil C geöffnet und das Wasser tritt in das Becken, während auch
die Klappe U geöffnet wird und den Durchgang der fäkalischen Stoffe gestattet; sobald
jedoch der Druck auf den Knopf G aufhört, wird Ventil und Klappe geschlossen und jedes
Zurücktreten des üblen Geruches in das Rohr X und somit in den Ciosetraum verhindert. Um
das Oeffnen der Klappe U durch einen Druck auf den Knopf G zu erleichtern, ist der Drehzapfen
des Hebels O verlängert und aufserhalb des Aufsatzes Z mit einem belasteten Hebel Dl
