Widerstandsheizelement zum Verschweißen von Gegenständen
aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff
Die Neuerung betrifft ein Heizelement zum Herstellen einer flächigen Schweißverbindung von Gegenständen aus thermoplastischem
Kunststoff, bestehend aus einer in der Schweißzone verbleibenden, gewendelten Widerstandsdrahtwicklung, insbesondere
zum Aufschweißen eines Sattelstückes auf die Oberfläche eines Rohres.
Heizelemente zur Schweißverbindung von thermoplastischen
Kunststoffteilen sind bekannt. Sie bestehen im wesentlichen
aus einem oder mehreren metallischen Widerstandsdrähten, die zwischen den miteinander zu verbindenden Kunetstoffteilen angeordnet
sind und denen ein elektrischer Strom zugeführt wird. Durch die dabei entstehende Wärme wird der Kunststoff
flüssig, so daß die Verbindungsstellen zusammenfließen und sich dadurch homogen miteinander verbinden. Das Widerstandsheizelement verbleibt nach Beendigung des Schweißvorganges in
der Verbindung.
Derartige Heizelemente haben vor allem für das Verschweißen
der Enden von Kunststoffrohren Verbreitung gefunden, wie es beispielsweise in der DPS 1 055 305 dargestellt ist. Gemäß
der DPS 863 255 ist es ferner bekanntgeworden, die Stoßkanten von Fußbodenbelägen aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff dadurch
miteinander zu verbinden, daß eine dazwischen angeordnete Drahtspirale als Heizelement verwendet wird, die vorzugsweise
mit einer Kunststoffummantelung versehen ist.

Die bekannten Widerstandsheizelemente sind Im wesentlichen
für die Verwendung in Schweißmuffen oder für das örtliche Verschweißen der Kunststoffteile geeignet, nicht aber für
das Verbinden von größeren Flächen, wie zum Beispiel für das Aufschweißen von Sattelstücken auf die Oberfläche von Rohren.
Eine Herstellung derartiger Schweißverbindungen hat sich die Neuerung zur Aufgabe gestellt, die dadurch gelöst wird, daß
als Heizelement eine Widerstandsdrahtwicklung verwendet wird, die in Gestalt eines flachen Sternes ausgebildet ist.
Gemäß den weiteren Merkmalen der Neuerung ist es empfehlenswert, daß die Widerstandsdrahtwicklung ringförmig geschlossen
ist und die Anschlüsse für die Stromzuführung an zwei einander gegenüberliegenden Seiten des Sternes angeordnet sind.
Auch ist vorteilhaft, daß die Widerstandsdrahtwicklung in an sich bekannter Weise mit» einet" tiiei-üioplä3tj.scnsn Kunststoff=
schicht überzogen ist, welche vorzugsweise durch kurzzeitiges Erhitzen der in einer Kunststoffpulveraufschüttung eingebetteten
Widerstandsdrahtwicklung erzeugt worden ist.
Das Heizelement kann als ein loses Teil vor dem Verschweißen zwischen die zu verbindenden Flächen gelegt werden. In manchen
Fällen empfiehlt es sich jedoch, daß es bereits vor dem Zusammenbringen der Teile mit einem von ihnen durch Schweißen
verbunden ist.
Für das Verbinden der Teile ist es zu empfehlen, daß während des Schweißvorganges das eine Teil gegen das andere gedrückt
wird, so daß die Widerstandsdrahtvricklung in beide zu verbindenden ^lachen eingepreßt wird.
In der Zeichnung ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Neuerung dargestellt, und zwar zeigen:
Abbildung 1 einen Längsschnitt durch die Schweißverbindung
einer Anbohrschelle mit einem Rohr und
Abbildung 2 eine entsprechende stirnseitige Ansicht, Abbildung 3 eine Seitenansicht des Heizelementes und
Abbildung 4 eine teilweise geschnittene Draufsicht hierauf.
Das Heizelement besteht aus dem gewendelten Widerstandsdraht J,
der in der thermoplastischen Kunststoffschicht 4 eingebettet
und in Forme eines flachen Sternes ausgebildet ist. Die Drahtwicklung selbst ist ringförmig geschlossen, und die Zuleitung
des elektrischen Heizstromes erfolgt über die einander gegenüberliegenden Anschlüsse 8 und 9. Zur Verbindung des thermoplastischen
Kunststoffrohres 1 mit der Anbohrschelle 2 aus dem gleichen Werkstoff wird die sternförmige Heizdrahtwicklung 2
zwischen die Rohroberfläche und das Sattelstück der Anbohrschelle
gebracht, worauf der Heizstrom eingeschaltet wird. Während des Schweißvorganges wird das Sattelstück der Anbohrschelle
gegen das Rohr gedrückt, was mit Hilfe des zweigeteilten Spannbügels 5 und der auf den Haltebolzen 6 aufgesetzten Druckfedern
7 erfolgt. Das Heizelement wird dabei durch diese Anordnung in die beiden zusammenfließenden Flächen eingedrückt, wodurch
eine gas- und f.lüssigkeitsdichte Verbindung der Anbohrschelle mit dem Rohr erzeugt wird. Das Sattelstück der Anbohrschelle
2 v/eist in einer b3vorzugten Ausführung gemäß Abbildung
eine die sternförmige Drahtwicklung 5 umgebende nutförmige Vertiefung
10 auf, in welche die beim Schweißvorgang flüssig gewordene thermoplastische Drahtumhüllung 4 ohne nennenswerten Fließwiderstand
abfließen kann.

Claims (4)
1.
Heizelement zum Herstellen einer flächigen Schweißverbindung von Gegenständen aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff,
bestehend aus einer in der Schweißzone verbleibenden, gewendelten Widerstandsdrahtwicklung, insbesondere
zum Aufschweißen eines SattelstücWes auf die Oberfläche
eines Rohres,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Widerstandsdrahtwicklung (3) in Gestalt eines flachen
Sternes ausgebildet ist.
2.Heizelement nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Widerstandsdrahtwicklung ringförmig geschlossen ist
und die Anschlüsse für die Stromzuführung an zwei einander
gegenüberliegenden Seiten (8, 9) des Sternes angeordnet sind.
Heiselement nach den Ansprüchen 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Widerstandsdrahtwicklung in an sich
bekannter Weise mit einer thermoplastischen Kunststoffschicht (4) überzogen ist, welche vorzugsweise durch kurzzeitiges
Erhitzen der in einer Kunststoffpulveraufschüttung
eingebetteten Widerstandsdrahtwicklung erzeugt worden ist.

Heizelement nach den Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Widerstandsdrahtwicklung mit einem der beiden zu verbindenden Teile durch Schweißen verbunden ist,
wobei dieses Teil vorzugsweise eine sternförmige Drahtwick·;
lung (3) umgebende, zur Aufnahme der beim Schweißen verdrj
ten thermoplastischen Drahtumhüllung (4) dienende »
