Description
Electric discharge lamp or fluorescent tube with a filling Noble gases and mercury and a luminophore layer excited by the mercury radiation Addendum to Patent 656213 The subject of patent 656213 is an electric discharge lamp or fluorescent tube with a filling of noble gases and mercury and one through the luminophore layer of cadmium phosphate excited by the mercury radiation. One such discharge lamps or fluorescent tubes exist because of their reddish luminescent color a whitish mixed light with a warm hue, especially if that Cadmium phosphate is activated by adding a small amount of manganese.
It was found that a not inconsiderably better light output with practically the same reddish luminescent color and thus the same hue of the Mixed light from mercury radiation and luminescence radiation is achieved when according to the invention, the cadmium phosphate used to produce the luminophore layer cadmium chloride is still added. The amount thereof is suitably Io bis 30%. An addition of cadmium chloride of about 20% has proven to be particularly advantageous. Before the addition of the cadmium chloride, the cadm, n-aumphoisphate is expedient activated by adding manganese. The latter can, like -im Main patent stated, 0.05 to 0.5%. The by mixing and subsequent annealing of Cadmium phosphate and cadmium chloride disfiguring cadmium chlorophosphate (3 Cd # P # 0 # ₧ CdC1 #) can easily be produced in a sufficiently fine-grained texture and can be in the same way, as indicated in the patent 656213 for cadmium phosphate, particularly well using a phosphoric acid layer on the vessel wall of Attach discharge lamps or fluorescent tubes or shields assigned to them.
