Abstract

Fire-resistant composite yarn comprises more than 40 wt.% flame-retarded (semi)crystalline polymer fibers (F1), 10-45% (by weight of F1) infusible hydrophilic fibers (F2) and 4-50 wt.% nonflammable thermostable fibers (F3). An independent claim is also included for textiles for making protective clothing, comprising at least one textile layer woven or knitted from the fire-resistant yarn.
