Description
Method for adsorbing hydrochloric acid It has been found that bulky Zirconia hydrate has adsorbing properties. It has z. B. shown that zirconium oxide is suitable, hydrochloric acid z. B. to adsorb from solutions, without the free hydrochloric acid disappearing completely. Attempts have z. B. show that from solutions of hydrochloric acid, e.g. B. those that contain a to 4. o; ö H Cl, by adding zirconium oxide hydrate, the hydrochloric acid is largely adsorbed, that still an o, i 5- to o, ao'oige acid remains. The solution then has one Acid concentration as found in normal gastric juice. The zirconium oxide hydrate therefore has a buffering effect on free hydrochloric acid.
The adsorption capacity of the zirconium oxide hydrate for hydrochloric acid can can be used in different directions. When splitting z. B. Glucosides, cellulose and the like, dilute acids are often used. To Once the split has taken place, it is important. the cleavage products from further decomposition to preserve. One is therefore compelled to blunt free acid or as soon as possible to be removed completely. Up to now, silver oxide and silver carbonate have usually been used for this purpose used, but both have different disadvantages, e.g. B. the fact that silver goes into solution and is difficult to remove. By using zirconium oxide the hydrochloric acid can be eliminated without any foreign matter in the solution to be introduced.
For Adsorptionszivecke suitable zirconium oxide can z. B. can be obtained such that zirconium salts, such as. B. zirconium oxychloride, Zr 0 CL # S aqu, zirconium sulfate and the like. B. 25% ammonia at a suitably lower temperature, e.g. B. room temperature. The zirconium salts are best used in their natural state, possibly also in the presence of limited amounts of liquid, e.g. B. subjected to the action of ammonia in pasted form. The zirconium oxide hydrate is obtained in the desired form suitable for adsorption purposes by washing out and drying the product obtained. When carrying out the drying process, it is advisable to avoid harmful temperature levels. In general, it has proven advantageous to carry out the drying at temperatures of less than 100 °. The drying process is advantageously carried out in a vacuum.
