Abstract

A lid is proposed. The lid has a lid ring (10) which is connectable to a container edge by means of rims or grooves and which has an outer rim edge (11), and a fastening flange (13) connected to the lid ring by means of a core wall (12) and which borders on a lid opening (15a). Thereon a closure film (15) which tightly seals the lid opening but which can be pulled away to uncover the opening is fastened by its edge area by an adhesive or a heat sealing (17). The closure film has a gripping flap (3) for the initiation and carrying out of the removal process, and the closure film (15) has ears (16) protruding outward at selected edge areas above the fastening area (17) of the film on the flange (13) of the lid ring (10) for the promotion of the removal process and for the prevention of tearing of the film edge during the removal process. Without requiring stronger and thicker materials for the closure film, a tearing of the film is largely avoided.
