Description
Process for connecting Doublö fabrics, especially in the Gas mask production For the production of gas protective masks, gas and waterproof Sacks, raincoats, etc. is the use of so-called double textured fabrics known. These fabrics consist of two identical or different layers of fabric, which are held together by a rubber layer in between. This rubber layer makes the fabric impermeable to air and water and at the same time serves as an adhesive and lanyards. When processing or sewing such fabrics up to now one has proceeded in such a way that one laid the fabrics over and over with them a suitable one. Suture and the holes punched by the needle in the sealed the rubber layer between the fabrics with rubber solution. Diesel type The disadvantage of bringing them together was that with any mechanical stress of the fabric, the rubber layer on the outside of the fabric and also the sewing threads can be repelled and the fabric no longer remains tight. According to the invention, this is to be avoided by means of a process for joining two pieces of Doub16 fabric by placing the two pieces of fabric butt against each other, staple them with an overcast seam or a zidkzag seam and on both On the sides of the Doubi6 fabric, a strip of the appropriate width above the joint from rubber repair plate. With a device, for example metal clamps, the repair plate is pressed onto the DoubM fabric and heated to about i i o °. At this temperature, the repair panel strip softens, it becomes. between' Pressing the joint between the fabrics connects with the one between the tissues lying rubber layer and at the same time envelops the threads in the connecting seam. When heated, the repair plate is vulcanized at the same time and - as a result, it gets when it cools, the elastic properties of the rubber.
