Die vorliegende Construction bezweckt, die gleitende Reibung an Querhäuptern zu vermeiden und dieselbe in rollende Reibung umzuwandeln. Derartige Querhäupter können zur Geradführung von Kolbenstangen an Dampfmaschinen, Pumpen u. s. w. angewendet werden und bestehen der Hauptsache nach aus zwei oder vier Reibungsrollen, welche auf den Gleitschienen und auf einander rollen. Bei der Anwendung von vier Rollen können letztere entweder zu zweien hintereinander oder übereinander derart angeordnet sein, dafs ihre Axen in einer Ebene liegen, welche senkrecht zur Kolbenstange steht.The present construction aims to avoid sliding friction on crossheads and convert it into rolling friction.
