The present invention relates to a toilet with a cistern and a urinal.

Such flush toilets are available in various designs.
When men use normal toilets, it is generally considered a disadvantage if they urinate while standing, because the rim of the toilet bowl and the toilet seat as well as the floor are contaminated by splashes.
It is necessary each time to carefully clean the toilet seat, the toilet rim and, if necessary, the surrounding floor, although it must also be taken into account that this often does not happen ^.

A toilet with a urinal integrated into the toilet lid is known from German patent 19514589; this device requires the man to stand sideways, which is often not possible in narrow toilets. Furthermore, occasional cleaning - as described - is absolutely unhygienic and the use of a water jug standing next to it is not at all modern.

A combination flush toilet and urinal is known from PCT application WO 94/20696. This combination comprises a single toilet bowl with a flush toilet section extending forwards and - at the rear of the latter - an upwardly extending and forwardly open urinal section. A lid and toilet seat assembly can be swung away to one side of the toilet bowl for use of the combination as a urinal.
There is no significant advantage here compared to conventional toilets, because at the beginning and end of urination the urine stream still hits the edge of the bowl and the surrounding area. Another disadvantage is that the known combination requires a lot of space at the side to swing the lid and toilet seat arrangement away and a special swivel joint, although this space is not available in most spatially confined bathrooms.

The invention is based on the object of creating an additional device for toilets of conventional type, by means of which contamination of the toilet rim, toilet seat,

Toilet lid and the surrounding floor are avoided when the man urinates while standing.

The solution to the problem is achieved by an integral functional and spatial unit formed by a cistern and a urinal, whereby the urinal is arranged so that it can pivot on the cistern or on the drainpipe and, in the storage position, forms a closed spatial unit with the cistern and can be pivoted over the toilet bowl into the position of use for inserting the penis.

An alternative design is provided when the cistern is sunk into the rear wall. In such a case the urinal is arranged in its storage position in a vertical position in front of the cistern or in front of the rear wall which accommodates the cistern and in its position of use can be swung out over the toilet bowl for the insertion*; of the penis. . ■·■;■· _;; .^... .' · : --^m. ·. -,V <·^. . ■ ;

In this way, and _this applies to both solutions, contamination of the toilet rim, toilet seat, toilet lid and surrounding floor is absolutely impossible.
Another significant advantage of the solution according to the invention is that no additional space is required, neither to the side nor in front of the conventional toilet.

According to a further feature of the invention, the urinal consists of a urine drain pipe, a urine funnel connected to it on the open side and an elastic intermediate piece connected to the toilet bowl or the drain pipe at the other end. This creates a closed functional unit that contains only a few simple parts and is therefore very inexpensive and, if necessary, also suitable for subsequent installation.

According to a further design option, the cistern can have a recess in the middle or outside center with a recess at the top for the retracted urinal. In this way, a spatially closed and aesthetic design is created.

Fig. 1 shows a typical toilet (1) with toilet seat (3), toilet lid (4), and cistern (5), as well as flush water pipe (6) and drain pipe (7).

In the stowed position according to Fig. 1, a urinal (8) is arranged in the recess (13) of the cistern (5). The urinal (8) essentially consists of the urinal drain pipe (9), the urinal funnel (10) and an ejaculated intermediate piece (11) which can be connected either to the toilet bowl (1) or to the drain pipe (7).

At the top of the trough (13) there is a recess (14) which projects into the cistern and accommodates the urine funnel (10) in the storage position. The inner edge of the urine funnel (10) surrounds a head part (20) arranged in the cistern (5), in which the flush valve (19) is located, which sprays a metered amount of water into the urine funnel via a timing element and thus cleans it. The urinal (8) is pivotally mounted on the bottom part of the cistern (5) or on the drain pipe (7) or on the rear part of the toilet (1) in bearings (15) with its bearing pin (17), with a damper (18) being provided to ensure that the urinal can be extended smoothly into the position for use.

Fig. 1 shows a conventional toilet (1) with toilet seat (3), toilet cover (4), and cistern (5), as well as flush water pipe (6) and drain pipe (7).

In the storage position according to Fig. 1, a urinal (8) is arranged in the recess (13) of the cistern (5). The urinal (8) consists essentially of the urinal drain pipe (9), the urinal funnel (10) and an elastic intermediate piece (11) which is connected either to the toilet bowl (12) or to the drain pipe (7). ■ - Vi4·;-. ■ ■■ ■..-.;■■>■■, · ■.-

At the top of the trough (13) there is a recess (14) which projects into the cistern and accommodates the urine funnel (10) in the storage position. The inner edge of the urine funnel (10) surrounds a head section (20) in the cistern (5) which contains the flush valve (19) which uses a timing element to spray a metered amount of water into the urine funnel and thus cleans it. The urinal (8) is pivotally mounted on the bottom of the cistern (5) or on the drain pipe (7) or on the rear part of the toilet (1) in bearings (15) with its bearing pin (17). A damper (18) is provided to ensure that the urinal can be moved smoothly into the position of use. Fig. 2 shows the position of use of the urinal (8) in detail.

Figures 3 and 4 show the device according to the invention in a variant with a urinal (8) located in front of the rear wall of the toilet.

According to an essential feature of the invention, a hydraulic or electric valve (19) is provided in the cistern (5) - e.g., actuatable via a timer - for flushing the urine funnel (10) in the storage position. In order to ensure absolute cleanliness, a head part (20) is provided in the cistern (5), which engages with its inner edge in the opening of the urine funnel (10) and closes it. This ensures absolute cleanliness on the one hand, and on the other hand, the flushing that limits the timer uses much less flushing water than is the case when flushing conventional toilets.

Advantageously, the urine funnel (10) is detachably attached to the drain pipe (9) so that it can be easily replaced as a replacement part - especially after a certain period of use; - ^

Furthermore, the urine funnel (10), which can be swiveled vertically or spherically, can be connected to the urine drain pipe (9). In this way, it can be easily adjusted to suit the man urinating at any given time.

Claims (13)

Toilet with a cistern and a urinal, characterized by an integral functional and spatial unit formed by the cistern and the urinal, wherein the urinal ( 8 ) is pivotably arranged on the cistern ( 5 ) or on the drain pipe ( 7 ) and, in the storage position, forms a closed spatial unit with the cistern and can be pivoted over the toilet bowl ( 12 ) into the position of use for inserting the penis. 2. Toilet with a cistern and a urinal, characterized in that the urinal ( 8 ) is arranged in its storage position in a vertical position in front of the cistern ( 5 ) or in front of the rear wall receiving the cistern ( 5 ) and can be swung out over the toilet bowl ( 12 ) into its position of use for inserting the penis. 3. Toilet according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the urinal ( 8 ) consists of a urine drain pipe ( 9 ), a urine funnel ( 10 ) connected to the open side and an elastic intermediate piece ( 11 ) connected at the other end to the toilet bowl ( 12 ) or the drain pipe ( 7 ). 4. Toilet according to claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the cistern ( 5 ) has a central or eccentric recess ( 13 ) with a recess at the top ( 14 ) for the retracted urinal ( 8 ). 5. Toilet according to one or more of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the urinal ( 8 ) has a bearing point ( 15 ) and that the end positions of the urinal ( 8 ) are centered. 6. Toilet according to one or more of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the urinal drain pipe ( 9 ) is telescopic. 7. Toilet according to one or more of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that a spring ( 16 ) is provided as a pivoting aid for the urinal ( 8 ). 8. Toilet according to claim 7, characterized in that the spring ( 16 ) is designed as a torsion spring around the bearing bolt ( 17 ). 9. Toilet according to one or more of the claims, characterized in that a damper ( 18 ) is arranged between the cistern ( 5 ) and the urine drain pipe ( 9 ). 10. Toilet according to one or more of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that a hydraulic or electrical valve ( 19 ) which can be actuated, for example, via a timer, is provided in the cistern ( 5 ) for flushing the urine funnel ( 10 ) of the urinal ( 8 ) in the storage position. 11. Toilet according to claim 10, characterized in that in the storage position the opening of the urine funnel ( 10 ) closes a head part ( 20 ) in which the flush valve ( 19 ) is arranged. 12. Toilet according to one or more of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the urine funnel ( 10 ) is detachably attached to the urine drain pipe ( 9 ) and is thus replaceable. 13. Toilet according to one or more of claims 1 to 12, characterized in that the urine funnel ( 10 ) is arranged vertically or spherically, pivotably on the urine drain pipe ( 9 ).
