Starting position: Dosing opener, dosing attachments and dosing bowls,

as they have been used in the pharmaceutical sector to date, they are used both for measuring and for administering liquid medicinal forms (juice / drops / solution / emulsion, etc.).

Experience shows that these devices are very difficult for older patients (tremor/Parkinson's disease) to handle and are often not accepted by children either. In these cases, this leads to more or less large amounts of the medication being "spilled" and/or spat out (on dirty clothing/laundry), which means that the dosage is inaccurate and the medication does not take effect to the desired extent.

Achieved advantage: The dosing straw simplifies the administration of liquid

Medicines in children and the elderly considerably.

Due to its dual purpose, the dosing device can be used to administer liquid medicine to active elderly people and cooperative children using the measuring spoon side (Fig. 1/1.1 and 3/3.1). The measuring spoon contains dosage markings, from 1/2 - 20 ml, depending on the medicine.

In the case of Parkinson's and tremor patients, as well as in the case of small (sucking reflex I) ailing and uncooperative children, the entire amount of medication should be administered using the "straw side" (Fig. 1/1.2 and 3/3.2). This can be taken slowly, in several small sips if necessary - without the problems described above.

The cross-section of the dosing straw can vary according to the viscosity of the liquid: high viscosity requires larger cross-sections or straw ends, low viscosity requires smaller cross-sections or straw ends. (see Fig. 2.1 - 2.3)

The dosing straw is gentle on the caregiver and child - and also on some elderly patients. It makes the administration of liquid medicines to children - but also to patients in need of care (tremor / Parkinson's) for example - easier and the treatment safer by using the straw.

Claims (1)

Dosing straw, characterized in that it is made of glass, plastic or metal, is single-colored and 1 or multi-colored, with measuring range round and oval, smooth or stepped, measuring range sizes between 1/2 and 20 ml. The straws are straight or curved, with varying large, constant diameters and 1 or conical tapered straw cross-sections.
