The innovation concerns a telephone consisting of a housing with a handset, with a dial pad arranged either in the housing or in the handset and the handset being connected to an electronic circuit arranged in the housing and provided with a cable connection for a telephone landline network for the purpose of transmitting information, either by cable or radio

Such telephones are sufficiently well known, so that no special written proof is required. Telephone connections to all currently common telephone devices are possible with such telephones, i.e. a connection can be made with such telephones in both the so-called landline network and the radio network. The connection to the radio network is established by dialing a number on a radio telephone using the keypad. This number is converted into electrical impulses by the electronic circuit in the telephone and transmitted via a cable to a switching center on the landline network. There the signal is sent to a transmitting antenna, with which the called radio telephone then establishes a connection.

Technically, this connection usually works perfectly. However, with regard to the costs involved in establishing a connection between a landline and a wireless network, there is a disadvantage, at least at the moment, in that the charges are significantly higher than, for example, for establishing a connection within the landline or wireless network.

The innovation is therefore based on the task of providing a telephone with which the cheapest tariffs can be used without any major effort in both landline and wireless network operation.

This object is achieved with a telephone of the type mentioned at the outset in that a second electronic circuit for radio telephony is arranged in the housing, which is optionally integrated in the electronic circuit and is connected on the one hand to an antenna and on the other hand to the dial pad, wherein the electronic circuit for landline operation or the second electronic circuit for radio network operation can be actuated optionally with the dial pad.

In principle, the telephone according to the innovation consists of a conventional landline telephone in which the electronics of a radio telephone are also arranged in the housing. This integrated design has the advantageous consequence that, firstly, only one telephone with only one number needs to be set up at a workstation and, secondly, and this is even more important, an additional keypad for the radio telephone can be dispensed with.

Depending on which telephone subscriber the voter wants to reach, he or she dials a number on the landline or mobile network, whereby the voter can freely choose, for example, via a switch, whether the transmission should take place via the landline or the mobile network.

It is also advantageous to arrange a memory in the device in which, for example, the area codes of the radio network are stored. In addition, electronics are then provided which then selects the transmission network corresponding to the area code when a number is dialled.

An advantageous development of the new telephone is that the dial pad consists of a numeric keypad on the one hand and a letter keypad on the other. This makes it possible to enter not only the number of the telephone subscriber to be called, but also short messages, which are now not only technically possible, but

for the exchange of information have already become quite common.

In order to be able to display this information on the telephone, it is also advantageous to have a display arranged either in the housing and/or on the handset.

Depending on the installation location and taking into account the considerable radiation from radio telephones, the antenna can be installed either on the outside of the housing, in the housing, separately or on the handset.

The new type of telephone is explained in more detail below using a drawing of an exemplary embodiment.

The telephone in Fig. 1 consists of a housing 1 with a handset 2, wherein a dial pad 3 is arranged in the housing 1 and the handset 2 is connected to an electronic circuit 4 arranged in the housing 1 and provided with a cable connection 5 for a telephone landline 6 for the transmission of information by cable. Not shown, because it is easily conceivable, is a telephone in which the dial pad is arranged in the handset 2 and in which the handset 2 is connected by radio to the electronic circuit 4 arranged in the housing 1, wherein the radio connection between the handset 2 and the electronic circuit 4 has a reception range limited to only a few hundred meters.

What is essential for the new type of telephone is that a second electronic circuit 7 for radio telephony (for example via so-called GSM transmission) is arranged in the housing 1, which is connected on the one hand to an antenna 8 and on the other hand to

the dial pad 3, whereby the electronic circuit 4 for fixed network operation or the second electronic circuit 7 for radio network operation can be operated optionally with the dial pad 3.

With the telephone shown, the dialer must first decide which transmission method he wants to use. He tells the telephone this by pressing the "1" key for a landline or "2" for a mobile network, for example. He can then dial the number as usual.

Also possible, but not shown, is an embodiment in which an additional electronic unit 12 is arranged in the telephone, which is connected on the one hand to a memory 13 and on the other hand to the dial pad 3. In such an embodiment, it is possible, for example, to store all the area codes of the radio network in order to then have the electronic unit 12 select the transmission path corresponding to the area code and thus more cost-effective without having to select a transmission path itself.

Also not shown, because also easily conceivable, is a possible embodiment in which the electronic circuit 7 for radio telephony is integrated in the electronic circuit 4 for landline telephony.

Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of the telephone according to the innovation, in which it is additionally advantageously provided that the dial pad 3 consists on the one hand of a numeric block 9 and on the other hand of a letter block 10, the numeric block 9 containing in particular the numbers 0 to 9 and the letter block 10 in particular the letters A to Z.

Furthermore, it is advantageously provided that a display 11 is arranged in the housing 1 for displaying the dialed number or the written short message.

Fig. 2 also shows that the antenna 8 of the telephone is arranged separately from the housing 1, with a cable connecting the antenna 8 to the telephone. This makes it possible to set up the antenna 8 outdoors, for example, which not only has the advantage of an improved radio connection, but also a reduction in radiation exposure in the room where the telephone is set up. The antenna 8 can of course also be arranged on the outside of the housing 1, in the housing 1 or on the handset 2 if no cable is to be laid.

Telephone, consisting of a housing ( 1 ) with a handset ( 2 ), wherein a dial pad ( 3 ) is optionally arranged in the housing ( 1 ) or in the handset ( 2 ), and the handset ( 2 ) is connected for information transmission either by cable or radio to an electronic circuit (4) arranged in the housing ( 1 ) and provided with a cable connection ( 5 ) for a fixed telephone network ( 6 ), characterized in that a second electronic circuit ( 7 ) for radio telephony, optionally integrated in the electronic circuit ( 4 ) , is arranged in the housing ( 1 ), which is connected on the one hand to an antenna ( 8 ) and on the other hand to the dial pad ( 3 ), wherein the electronic circuit ( 4 ) for fixed network operation or the second electronic circuit ( 7 ) for radio network operation can be operated optionally with the dial pad ( 3 ). 2. Telephone according to claim 1, characterized in that an additional electronic unit ( 12 ) is arranged in the housing ( 1 ), which is connected on the one hand to a memory ( 13 ) and on the other hand to the dial pad ( 3 ). 3. Telephone according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the dial pad ( 3 ) consists on the one hand of a numeric block ( 9 ) and on the other hand of a letter block ( 10 ). 4. Telephone according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a display ( 11 ) is arranged optionally in the housing ( 1 ) and/or on the handset ( 2 ). 5. Telephone according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the antenna ( 8 ) is arranged optionally on the outside of the housing ( 1 ), in the housing ( 1 ), separately or on the handset ( 2 ).
