Description

Bicycle pumps (mini pumps) of the usual design are only used for inflating and are usually clamped to the bicycle frame with the help of a bracket.

Because they are only clamped in place, they can easily be stolen or lost during heavy use. In addition, they do not have any removable storage space for things like puncture patches and lock keys.

The problem of where to store the bicycle lock often arises.

Common types of bicycle locks, such as spiral locks, U-locks or chain locks, are usually attached to the frame separately using a bracket, but they often hinder the rider, make unpleasant rattling noises or scratch the bicycle frame. They are also exposed to environmental influences when cycling, which often causes them to rust or get dirty.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a lockable bicycle air pump (mini pump) in which a bicycle lock is also integrated, which can be removed if necessary, whereby the air pump is in no way impaired in its function, i.e. the lock can remain in the air pump during pumping or can be removed.

This problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1.

The invention ensures that the chain lock is stored inside the bicycle air pump in a space-saving manner, invisibly and protected from environmental influences such as rust or dirt, thus preventing scratching of the frame or rattling.

Furthermore, no additional bracket for the chain lock is required, which results in weight advantages.

If the lock is not removed, the air pump cannot be stolen or lost because it is locked to the bicycle frame. If the chain lock, which is much longer than the air pump, is removed (BSP air pump 25 cm, lock 85 cm), the bicycle can be secured against theft.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention is described in claim 2.

The extension according to claim 2 allows a removable lid with storage space to be placed on the handle of the air pump. The lock key and puncture patches can be stored here while cycling, for example.

If the lock or, in the event of a breakdown, the patches are needed, the cover can be removed and the lock key or puncture patches taken out. A lockable bicycle pump (mini pump) thus combines everything that is important for a bike ride: chain lock (with key), lockable air pump and puncture patches.

If you need a bike lock when cycling, you can take the lock key out of the storage compartment (7) and unlock the air pump. By turning the air pump (1) with the cover (6) removed, the chain lock (2,4) falls out.

Because the chain links slide into each other when stowed inside the pump (Fig. 3), the chain lock measures 3.5 to 4 times the length of the pump when removed (Fig. 2). The air pump is still fully functional even when the chain lock is removed (Fig. 4). If the chain lock is no longer needed, it is simply inserted into the interior of the air pump (Fig. 3), whereby a pin (9) on the lock head and a groove in the handle (5) ensure that the lock always returns to its original position, i.e. the holes in the handle match those of the lock.
