Ein Flachdach ist in den verschiedensten Ausführungsformen bekannt; so sind Flachdächer bekannt, die auf der Grundlage einer Betonplatte aufgebaut sind, wobei die Betonplatte mit Bitumenbahnen gegenüber eindringender Feuchtigkeit abgedichtet wird. Darüber hinaus sind Flachdächer bekannt, die als Holzbalkenkonstruktion ausgebildet sind, wobei eine derartige Holzbalkenkonstruktion einen isolierenden Aufbau aufweist, der dann schlußendlich ebenfalls mit Bitumenbahnen gegenüber eindringende Feuchtigkeit abgedichtet wird. Wahlweise wird dann auf ein derartiges Flachdach eine Kiesschicht aufgebracht, um die Bitumenbahnen vor unmittelbarer Sonneneinstrahlung und damit vorzeitiger Alterung zu schützen. Darüber hinaus sind auf Dächern von Häusern angeordnete Terrassen bekannt, wobei eine solche Terrasse üblicherweise einen Steinbelag aufweist. Bevor ein derartiger Steinbelag allerdings aufgebracht werden kann, muß die Terrasse unter dem Steinbelag gegenüber eindringender Feuchtigkeit abgedichtet werden. Hieraus wird deutlich, daß bei Zusammenbau einer Abdeckung der erfindungsgemäßen Art für eine Terrasse bzw. für ein Flachdach zwei benachbarte Platten immer durch mindestens einen Abstandshalter 35a - 35d voneinander getrennt sind, so daß immer ein Spalt zur Entwässerung gebildet wird.The individual plate-shaped elements have spacers 35a, 35b, 35c and 35d on their edges.
