Multifunctional cladding part

The present invention relates to a multifunctional trim part for the motor vehicle interior, in particular for the footwell, armrest or headrest.

Interior panels with a textile or smooth surface for interior demarcation and optical improvement are already known. However, such interior panels usually only have an optical function and the integration of additional functions is difficult.

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a multifunctional trim part for the vehicle interior, which allows a fundamental extension of the functions of the trim by integrating further functions while maintaining the surface geometry.

This object is achieved according to the invention by a multifunctional trim part for the vehicle interior according to claim 1. The multifunctional trim part according to the invention is provided as a separate insert in carpet recesses, e.g. in the footwell of the driver's floor or in the footwell of the rear floor. Furthermore, an insert is provided as an integrated armrest in door panels or as an armrest in the middle of the rear seat. Finally, an insert as a headrest or as a cover for a shoe storage compartment or as a footrest is also possible.

The holder is preferably provided with fixing tips (projecting downwards) to ensure suitable mounting in the ground, if necessary with a locking engagement.

A heating device is preferably embedded in the outer material in order to integrate an additional heating function in the cladding part.

Anti-slip studs are preferably connected to the base of the holder, which provide an anti-slip effect when used as a floor covering part.

The elastic outer material is transparent in a special design. This allows a special decoration to shine through or creates the conditions for lighting.

Preferably, an elastomer insert is embedded in or under the textile outer material. The elastomer insert serves as a special optical covering or as a lighting device.

The elastomer insert is preferably transparent to support the lighting function.

A lighting device is preferably arranged in the elastomer insert or the elastomer outer material. This allows an individually adjustable lighting function to be integrated into the trim part.

A mat heater is preferably provided underneath the outer material or the elastomer insert. This also allows the heating function to be made effective.

A heating device is preferably embedded in the elastomer insert. This allows the trim part to be heated.

A thermal insulation layer is preferably placed underneath the mat heating or the elastomer insert. This largely prevents heat loss.

In a particular embodiment of the invention, the holder is preferably pivotably mounted as a footrest. This means that it can be pivoted into a functional position on the floor and into a non-functional position away from the floor.

An interior space for accommodating objects is preferably formed in the holder. This design serves as storage space for storing shoes, for example, to increase the comfort of the trim part.

A ventilation channel is preferably formed in the holder, which is connected to slots formed on the outside. This also allows a ventilation function to be integrated into the panel part as desired.

Preferably, a drive device is provided to raise and lower the holder. This allows the holder to be moved between the functional position and the non-functional position.

The mount is preferably wedge-shaped and preferably hinged at its pointed end. This ensures effective pivoting with minimal design effort.

The latter embodiment is used in particular to design the multifunctional trim part as a pivoting footrest in the car floor area.

Fig. 1 shows a view of the interior of a car. A multifunctional trim part 2 can be used in the footwell area as a floor mat, floor flap, etc. A multifunctional trim part 4 can also be used as an armrest. A trim part 8 can also be used as a side rest in the rear. Finally, trim parts 6 can be considered as headrests.

Fig. 2 shows a footwell or a floor area in which a trim part 10 is used as an insert in recesses, as can be clearly seen in Fig. 3.

Fig. 4 shows a basic embodiment of a multifunctional cladding part with a tub-shaped holder 22 made of stainless steel, in which a textile outer material 20 with textile decoration is embedded. The tub is provided with decorative embossings 24 penetrating the textile outer material 20. On the underside of the tub 22, flared fixing tips 26 are provided to ensure sufficient engagement with the floor.

Fig. 5 shows a further embodiment of a multifunctional covering part, which is basically similar to the structure of Fig. 4. Instead of the textile outer material 20, an elastomer outer material 28, for example rubber, is selected. This can be made in black, for example.

Fig. 6 shows a third embodiment of a multifunctional covering part according to the invention, also with a tray in which an elastomeric outer material 30 in a transparent or colored design is arranged. Heating rods or heating coils or heating wires 32 are embedded in the lower area of the elastomeric outer material 30. Furthermore, anti-slip studs 34 are provided in connection with the lower part of the tray.

Fig. 7 shows a fourth embodiment of a multifunctional covering part according to the invention. The trough-shaped holder 21 is made of transparent elastomer. A textile outer material 20 is embedded in it. The transparent elastomer 21 forms decorative pre-embossed areas 36 that protrude upwards through the outer material 20. Within these protruding areas 36, one or more lighting devices 38 are integrated in the transparent elastomer. This illuminates specific areas of the covering.

Fig. 8 shows a fifth embodiment of a multifunctional covering part in the form of a transparent elastomeric tub, in which protruding features are provided in the areas 36 in which a lighting device 38 is mounted. Furthermore, a mat heater 42 is mounted underneath the textile outer material 20. Underneath this is a heat insulation layer 40.

Fig. 9 shows a sixth embodiment of a multifunctional covering part according to the invention. In contrast to Fig. 8, the mat heating 42 is replaced by a plurality of heating wires or heating coils or heating rods 44 which are integrated in the elastomeric tub material 21.

Fig. 10 illustrates a further embodiment of a multifunctional covering part according to the invention in the form of a footrest with integrated storage compartment. The footrest is formed by the holder 50, which may

to be covered with a textile or elastomeric outer material (not shown)

The holder 50 has an interior space 62 designed as a storage compartment that can be closed off by a hinged outer flap 60. The interior space 62 serves as storage space, for example for a passenger's shoes. The holder 50 also has a circumferential ventilation duct 54 that interacts with slots 52 formed on the outside. The supplied air can flow out through the slots 52. The ventilation duct is connected at the end to ventilation inlets in the vehicle floor. The holder 50 has a wedge shape and is equipped with a pivot axis 58 at its pointed end that is mounted in the vehicle floor. This allows the holder 50 to be moved from the floor-side position shown in Fig. 11 to the raised, non-functional position also shown in Fig. 11. In the non-functional position, the holder 50 can be loaded with shoes and then pivoted back into the functional position. A drive device 56 designed as a gas spring is provided to move the holder 50 between the two positions. Furthermore, manual operation by means of a gas spring and a mechanical locking mechanism or automatic operation by means of an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic drive are alternatively provided.

Claims (5)

1. Multifunctional trim part for a motor vehicle interior, in particular for the footwell, armrest or headrest, comprising a textile or elastomeric outer material which is received in a receptacle ( 50 ), wherein the receptacle ( 50 ) is pivotally mounted and a ventilation duct ( 54 ) is formed in the receptacle ( 50 ), which is connected to slots ( 52 ) formed on the outside, wherein the ventilation duct is connected at the end to ventilation inlets guided in the motor vehicle. 2. Multifunctional covering part according to claim 1, characterized in that an interior space ( 62 ) for receiving objects is formed in the receptacle ( 50 ). 3. Multifunctional covering part according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that an elastomeric insert is embedded or arranged in or under the textile outer material. 4. Multifunctional covering part according to claim 3, characterized in that a lighting device is arranged in the elastomeric insert or in the elastomeric outer material. 5. Multifunctional covering part according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a drive device ( 56 ) is provided in order to raise and lower the holder ( 50 ).
