Conventional dental devices designed to prevent people from snoring are currently very complex, uncomfortable and sometimes painful devices. They affect the jaw joints in an unnatural way. By connecting the upper and lower jaws with hinges or raising the chewing plane with bite splints, the joint heads of the jaw joint (mandibular condyle) cannot be pushed into their usual resting position. Devices with tongue supports (pilots), which are designed to prevent the tongue from falling back into the throat, are also not suitable for restful, deep sleep. Attaching the pilot to the upper jaw often creates a gag reflex and the feeling of wearing an oversized full denture. Furthermore, these adjustments are difficult to insert and remove and, if correctly positioned, make speaking or drinking impossible.

The invention specified in the protection claim is based on the problem of preventing the tongue of a person who is sleeping from falling back. The device (holder) should be as small as possible and should not affect the occlusion of the rows of teeth or the freedom of movement of the lower jaw and the jaw joints. The device should be easy to handle and clean and should ensure a high level of comfort when worn.

These problems are solved with the features listed in the protection claim.

The invention ensures that the pressure of a rubber band on the tongue prevents the tongue from falling back into the throat. This in turn ensures that the airways in the throat are not constricted, the patient can breathe freely and no snoring noises are produced.

The perforated rubber band is fixed to an individually manufactured steel or plastic frame (similar to dental partial dentures), which in turn is attached to the lower jaw teeth with clamps or claws.

In addition to the brackets and claws, there are two hooks on the frame to hold the perforated rubber band. The hooks are attached in the area of the large side teeth (molars), in the direction of the tongue.

Because the framework is manufactured individually for the patient, the construction is extremely small and delicate and does not affect the occlusion of the teeth or the freedom of movement of the lower jaw and the jaw joints.

Since the rubber band is soft and elastic, the patient can speak or drink even with the appliance in place.

The tension of the strap can be changed by different hooking positions on the scaffolding’s hooks.

Since the anti-snoring device is only attached to the lower jaw, it can be easily inserted and removed and there is no risk of damage to the upper jaw.
