Warning sash

The invention relates to a warning sash that can be put on by motor vehicle occupants when leaving the vehicle for their own safety and to warn traffic.

As is well known, motor vehicles carry a warning triangle which, in the event of a breakdown, is placed on the road at a sufficient distance from the stopped vehicle to alert traffic to the stationary vehicle. Placing the warning triangle increases the risk of an accident. This also applies to people who stand next to a stationary vehicle in moving traffic without a warning marking.

The invention is based on the object of improving the safety of vehicle occupants when they leave their vehicle in moving traffic, for example to set up a warning triangle, to call a repair service or to work on the vehicle themselves. In particular, a cover for a folded warning triangle is to be created that can be used to increase the safety of a vehicle occupant and can contribute to this even before the warning triangle is set up. Further advantages emerge from the following description.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a warning sash for the above-mentioned use in that it is at least partially covered on the outside with fluorescent daylight foil and has a pocket for holding a folded warning triangle. The cover of the warning triangle is designed as a sash,

which the occupant leaving the vehicle can put on after or before he has taken the folded warning triangle out of the pocket. In the latter case, the warning triangle is _only taken out of the pocket at the point on the road where it is to be placed. As the sash only has to be put over one shoulder, it can be put on by the person sitting in the vehicle, so that the warning effect is given immediately after leaving the vehicle. In general, the sash and in particular the outside of the pocket are covered with fluorescent daylight-luminescent film. A person wearing this sash can therefore be easily seen from all sides, even from a great distance.

According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the warning sash can be folded to the length of the bag and has a device for securing the folded state. The sash folded to the length of the bag and secured in this position protects the warning triangle in the bag from mechanical impacts and damage. The length of the bag is essentially the same as the length of the folded warning triangle and is, for example, approximately 42 to 43 cm. The device for securing the folded state of the sash can be designed in different ways, e.g. consisting of snap fasteners, zippers, etc. In the preferred embodiment, however, this device is designed as a Velcro connection, since unfolding and folding the sash is then easiest. In the preferred embodiment, the bag for holding the warning triangle has a closure flap with a Velcro fastener. Velcro fasteners are not very susceptible to interference and can be connected to the sash by gluing or welding.

In another embodiment, the warning sash is designed as a band with Velcro fasteners at both ends and at two points that lie on top of each other when folded. In this case, the ends of the band must be connected before the sash is folded over.

In the preferred embodiment of the warning sash according to the invention, its outside also has a fluorescent and reflective film. The width of this film is generally 25 to 50%, in particular about 1/3 of the sash width and is arranged in the middle of the outside running in the lengthwise direction of the sash, e.g. glued on. This reflective film reflects light that falls on it in the dark and takes over the warning function at night that is achieved during the day by the fluorescent daylight luminous film.

According to the preferred embodiment, the warning sash is at least partially covered on the inside with a padding layer made of bubble wrap or foam. The folded warning triangle, which is covered by the folded sash, is protected against mechanical damage by the padding layer if it is exposed to mechanical stress or impacts in the trunk, for example. The folded warning triangle is also padded on the narrow sides by the protruding sash. The protection of the warning triangle against mechanical damage and dirt is therefore comparable to the protection provided by the previously standard dimensionally stable plastic case.

If this holder is on the inside of the trunk lid, the luminous film or reflective film of the warning sash according to the invention will be visible to traffic coming from behind when the trunk lid is opened, so that a warning effect is created even though the warning triangle is still folded and covered.

The warning sash can have a width in the range of 9 to 15 cm, in particular 11 to 13 cm. Its total length is generally 125 to 170 cm, in particular 140 to 160 cm. If the warning sash is intended for use as a belt, the total length can generally be shorter.

The warning sash according to Figures 1 to 3 consists of an endless, i.e. self-contained plastic film strip 1 of approximately 12 cm wide and 150 cm long. The film is colored on the outside with a fluorescent dye, e.g. orange. The sash has a pocket 2 on the outside for a folded warning triangle 3. The pocket opening can be closed with a flap 4. The sash has a fluorescent/reflective film running lengthwise around its entire circumference, which reflects light that hits it in the dark. This reflective film also runs over the pocket 2 and the flap 4. Figure 1 shows the sash in a disassembled state in which it can be worn by a person over the shoulder. From Figures 2 and 3 it can be seen that the sash part can be laid flat outside the area of the pocket 2 and placed lengthways around the pocket 2. The flattened end 1 comes to lie under the flap 4, as can be seen from Figure 2. On the inside of the flap 4 there is a Velcro fastener 6 so that when the sash is taken apart the pocket 2 can be closed and when the sash is folded together as shown in Figure 2 the end 1, which is also provided with a Velcro connecting part, can be secured under the flap 4. The sash band 1 is provided with a padding layer 1 on the inside so that the sash folded around the warning triangle 3 as shown in Figure 2 protects the triangle from mechanical damage.

In the embodiment shown in Figures 4 to 6, the sash band 1 has two ends l ^c which are connected by a Velcro fastener 7. Otherwise, this embodiment corresponds to the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 3, with the corresponding positions having the same reference numbers. but also a Velcro connection part 8 on the outside, which serves to fix the sash in the folded state, enveloping the warning triangle 3, as shown in Figure 5. From Figure 5 it can be seen that the long end of the sash band 1 has been placed around the pocket 2, whereby the end 1 with its Velcro connection part 7 comes to rest on the Velcro connection part 8 of the flap 4, so that a handy package corresponding to the length of the folded warning triangle 3 is produced. In order to make the warning sash ready for use, the Velcro connection 7,8 must be separated and the Velcro connection 7 must be made between the ends 1.

In this embodiment, the long end of the sash band 1 has Velcro strips 9 on the inside of both longitudinal edges, so that these edges can be connected differently than in the embodiment shown in Figure 3, thus resulting in a package that is also closed at the sides, as can be seen in Figure 6.

Instead of the Velcro fasteners 6, 7, 8, zippers or snap fasteners can be used with the same result. The term "warning sash" in the sense of the present invention also includes a belt that can be worn around the waist and is shorter than stated above.

Finally, the warning sash according to the invention can have a hook tape 10 on the outside for securing the folded, covered warning triangle to the textile lining of a trunk. Instead of covering the outside of the sash with daylight luminous film, the sash itself can also consist of daylight luminous film.
