5. Device according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that the device is designed as a self-contained unit which can be removed from the grill device after the charcoal has been ignited.

6. Device according to claim 5, characterized in that the device is pivotably arranged on the grill device.

7. Device according to one of claims 1, 2 and 5, 6, characterized in that the ends (18, 18') of the glow rod (5) are designed with heat-insulated handles.

8. Device according to one of claims 1, 2 and 5 to 7, characterized in that the ends (18, 18') of the glow rod (5) are embedded in a common heat-insulated handle (9).

9. Device according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the glow rod (5) is designed in a shape which runs over the length and width of the bottom (10) of the fuel bowl (1).

10. Device according to claim 9, characterized in that the shape of the glow rod (5) is preferably designed in a loop shape.

11. Device according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the glow rod (5) is permanently connected to the bottom (10) of the fuel bowl (1).

12. Device according to claim 11, characterized in that the glow rod (5) is designed as a close-meshed mesh which forms the bottom (5) of the fuel bowl (1).

13. Device according to claim 11, characterized in that the glow rod (5) is a glow plate which forms the bottom (10) of the fuel bowl (1).

14. Device according to claim 13, characterized in that the glow plate (5) has penetrations.

15. Device according to one of claims 10 to 14, characterized in that the underside of the base (10) and the wall (11) of the fuel bowl (1) surrounding the base (10) are shielded against contact.

16. Device according to one of claims 1 to 15, characterized in that the device is provided with an overheating device (6).

17. Device according to one of claims 1 to 16, characterized in that the device can be switched off from the supply source.

18. Device according to one of claims 1, 5 to 11 and 15 to 17, characterized in that a metal mesh is provided between the grill charcoal and the glow rod (5).

19. Device according to claim 17, characterized in that the metal mesh is fixed to the fuel bowl (1) and the glow rod (5) is adjacent immediately below the metal mesh.
