Befördert werden überwiegend behinderte oder ältere Menschen.Diese zum Teil zweiteiligen Ausführungen sind relativ sperrig und durch die Rollstuhlkonstruktion bedingt mit einer Drehschemellenkung versehen,die sich sehr nachteilig auf das Lenkverhalten,Standsicherheit und Wendigkeit der Fahrzeuge auswirkt.So ist das befahren enger Kurven im Stadtverkehr z.B. kaum möglich,da derartige Ausführungen einen Wendekreisdurchmesser von ca. 5,5m aufweisen bzw.mit größerwerdenden Lenkeinschlag die Kippgefahr zunimmt.In recent years, hobbyists have developed a wide variety of bicycle-based tricycles, whereby wheelchairs or similar vehicles are coupled to a bicycle part.
