Description

The invention relates to a roller shutter box with a partially semicircular upper part and a lower part that is also partially semicircular in shape, as well as side cover caps, wherein one end of the upper part has an S-shaped receiving section for a Z-shaped connecting section that is formed at the facing end of the lower part.

Roller shutter boxes are preferably known with a rectangular or square cross-section, for example as described in the publication EP 0 137 133 B 1. For various construction projects, roller shutter boxes with such a cross-section are undesirable.

Roller shutter boxes are also known whose outlines are adapted to the essentially cylindrical roller shutter armor, i.e. the roller shutter box has a partially round shape. These known roller shutter boxes have the main disadvantage that they are expensive due to the use of extruded profiles (made of aluminum) and are also inflexible with regard to the winding conditions of the roller shutter armor.

The invention is based on the object of creating a roller shutter box of the type described in more detail at the outset, in which the semicircular upper and lower parts are formed from sheet metal and of realizing matching cover caps.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that

• the cover caps have a recess on the semi-circular part, the edge of which has a projection in the direction of the roller shutter run,

• the bearing pins for the roller of the roller shutter curtain are arranged outside the semi-circular frames of the cover caps,

• the upper part, which is made of sheet metal and encloses the cover cap at the top and sides, fits under the projection,

• the tongue of the lower part, which is also made of sheet metal, engages in the outer section.

The advantages achieved with the invention essentially consist in the fact that an inexpensive design of a "round" roller shutter box and matching cover caps with good mounting for the upper and lower parts as well as an optimal use of the interior space of the roller shutter box for accommodating the roller shutter armor are provided.

An essential element of the invention are the upper and lower parts 1 and 2 formed from sheet metal and semicircular on one side. Until now, the production of upper and lower parts 1 and 2 formed in this way from sheet metal was considered impossible and therefore extruded (expensive) upper and lower parts were used. The inventor has succeeded in forming the upper part 1 in particular from sheet metal using the steps according to claim 2, which, together with the correspondingly formed lower part 2, leads to a cost-effective roller shutter box.

However, the design of the cover caps 5 is also essential for the new roller shutter box. These have an indentation 7, the limit 9 of which, located in the direction of the roller shutter inlet 8, has a projection 10. The upper part 1 engages in this projection 10, as shown in Fig. 3, for example. On the other hand, the connecting section 4 of the lower part 2 engages in the S-shaped receiving section 3 of the upper part 1, which results in excellent clamping between the upper and lower parts. For "round" roller shutter boxes, as are the subject of the present application, it is also important to achieve maximum filling of the round box space by the roller shutter armor. This is not the case with any of the known designs. The invention therefore also consists in the fact that the bearing pins 11 for the roller of the roller shutter curtain are arranged outside the semicircular part of the upper and lower parts 1 and 2. This makes it possible to compensate for inaccuracies in the non-cylindrical roller shutter curtain in order to achieve optimal filling of the roller shutter box with the roller shutter curtain when the roller shutter is rolled up. Depending on the type of slats of the roller shutter curtain, the bearing pins 11 can be attached off-center in one or more directions in the roller shutter box.
