Cab darkening and insulation system

The subject of the present innovation is a cab darkening and insulation system for the driver/passenger area in motor vehicles according to the preamble of claim 1.

State-of-the-art roller blind systems are known that run vertically and are mainly made of textile material and are used to protect the inside of the front and side windows against sunlight and for darkening purposes.

For special purposes, such as in mobile homes and caravans with a strongly rounded front section and the built-in folding bed that is also rounded towards the windscreen, such known vertical roller blind systems are only of disadvantageous use.

In addition, the well-known vertical roller blind systems, which mainly consist of textile material, have an insufficient insulating effect against solar radiation.

The aim of this innovation is therefore to provide a darkening and insulation system for the driver/passenger area in motor vehicles, which ensures reliable darkening of the driver's cab with a high thermal insulation effect.

According to the innovation, this problem is solved by the technical teaching of the characterizing part of claim 1.

It is important here that no longer - as previously - a textile vertical roller blind system is used, but rather a multi-part, all-round honeycomb folding system, guided on the top and bottom of the front side window area of the driver's cab and horizontally slidable with hollow space formation for additional thermal insulation.

For this purpose, this honeycomb folding system has a high inherent rigidity, so that - in contrast to the well-known textile vertical blinds - it can be easily moved without great effort in an upper rail designed to match the front V-side window design and on the underside in a recess on the dashboard of the driver's cab in the front window area as well as in specially designed lower guides in the side window area.

The honeycomb folding system can be easily attached to the existing cab pillars in the usual way.

The design of the entire honeycomb folding system with vertical hollow chambers that are specially coated on the inside and trap air ensures a particularly advantageous insulating effect, especially against sunlight entering the driver's cab.

Each of the honeycomb segments is designed with a handle bar magnet part for easy, quick and safe, but also easily removable attachment to each other or to the respective assigned driver's cab pillar, which is designed with a frame with a locking strip and magnet.

Of course, the honeycomb segment Z driver's cab pillar locks can also be implemented in other technical ways; the only important thing here is the light and safe, yet easily removable honeycomb segment or honeycomb segment driver's cab pillar lock.

Any suitable material can be used for this driver's cab darkening and insulation system, such as paper or cardboard or fleece with a heat-insulating coating on the inside, in any length and width dimension adapted to the respective driver's cab window design.

The subject matter of the present innovation arises not only from the subject matter of the individual protection claims, but also from the combination of the individual protection claims with one another.

All information and features disclosed in the documents, including the summary, in particular the spatial configuration shown in the drawings, are claimed as essential to the invention insofar as they are new compared to the prior art, individually or in combination.

The innovation is explained in more detail below using drawings that merely show one way of carrying out the invention. The drawings and their descriptions reveal further features and advantages of the innovation that are essential to the invention.

According to Figures 1 to 5, a honeycomb system 1 is provided which consists of four separate, horizontally displaceable honeycomb segments 3, 3a, 3b, 3c with a plurality of vertical hollow chambers 2 which are thermally insulated on the inside.

The honeycomb segments 3,3a of the honeycomb system 1 covering the inside of a windscreen 7 are guided on the top by a rail 5 that runs from driver's cab pillar to driver's cab pillar 4a and is attached to these driver's cab pillars 4,4a in the ceiling area of the driver's cab, in which a

connected slider 9,9a with an arranged hook 10,10a engages in an associated guide 11,11a of the respective associated honeycomb segment 3,3a. The underside guidance of the two honeycomb segments 3,3a is ensured by a recess 19 on the dashboard of the driver's cab.

The honeycomb segments 3b, 3c intended to cover the inside of the two side windows 8, 8a are guided on the upper side by a slide rail 5a, 5b.

For this purpose, the respective slide rail 5a, 5b is equipped with a slider 9b, 9c with an arranged hook 10b, 10c. Each of the hooks 10b, 10c engages in a guide lld, lic of the respective associated honeycomb segment 3b, 3c. The respective rail 5a, 5b is arranged in a frame 12, 12a with a cover 13, 13a arranged on the inside, which is attached to the respective rear driver's cab pillar 4c, 4b in the ceiling area by means of a screw connection 14, 14a.

The lower guidance of the honeycomb segments 3b, 3c, which heat-insulate the inside of the two side windows 8,8a, is ensured by a guide 6,6a attached to the respective driver's cab pillar 4b, 4c. Furthermore, each of the honeycomb segments 3,3a, 3b, 3c is designed at its front, free end with a handle bar 17,17a, 17b,17c with a magnet 18,18a, 18b, 18c for mutual locking (honeycomb segments 3,3a) or for detachable fastening to the respective driver's cab pillar 4,4a (honeycomb segments 3b, 3c).

For the detachable fastening of the honeycomb segments 3b, 3c to the respective associated driver's cab pillar 4a, 4, a frame 20, 20a with a locking strip 15, 15a and an arranged magnet 16, 16a is present on each of these driver's cab pillars 4a, 4, which form a locking part with the respective associated handle bar magnet part 17c, 18c, 17b, 18b of the respective associated honeycomb segment 3b, 3c.

Due to the existing hollow chamber system 1, it is additionally designed to be thermally insulating.

The cab darkening and insulation system, which can be adapted to the respective cab conditions, is easy to handle and inexpensive to produce, consists of a hollow chamber honeycomb material that is heat-insulating on the inside, whereby preferably a paper, cardboard, fleece material or the like is used and can also be used advantageously in any motor vehicle with a rounded front section, but in particular in mobile homes and caravans designed in this way.
