The invention relates to a self-fixing transport holder for painting frames or the like with the features of the preamble in claim 1.

The teaching of the invention deals with the packaging and transport of valuable art objects. In particular, pictures and paintings by old and new masters in delicate but stable frames.

Transport brackets are used to transport framed paintings. These are flat boxes made of wood into which the framed painting is placed in soft padding material, especially foam plastic. The boxes are then transported standing up.

The painting is then tightly surrounded by padding material from the time it is packed and throughout the entire transport so that it is not damaged by vibrations and impacts during transport. The padding is particularly problematic at the bottom edge of the frame, where the full weight of the painting in the frame is applied, and transport damage is a common occurrence here.

Until now, the boxes had to be made specifically for a picture size and they are usually destroyed after the transport is completed. Converting such a box to a different picture size is very time-consuming and expensive. Likewise, storing a used box (which is only intended for this specific size) is very expensive and pointless, as it is rarely reused.

The special feature of the innovation presented here is that the packaging can always be reused and is suitable for frames of different sizes. Another decisive step is the idea of a variable packaging medium, without any mechanics or heavy parts in the image space and the extensive independence from energy-dependent and heavy, pointed, unwieldy tools such as cordless screwdrivers, screwdrivers, etc.

The framed picture or painting is inserted into the reusable cushion triangle using either variable triangles or specially clipped-on interchangeable cushioning discs to compensate for the depth. The cushioning corner angles are each surrounded by a solid material so that they have their own support and provide all-round cushioning for the goods being transported.

These 4 corners are placed around the outside of the 4 frame edges and connected to each other with Velcro or other straps, so that the corners hold onto the painting and cannot fall off.

However, these straps do not exert any pressure on the object being transported; they only serve to firmly connect the corners together.

The corner cushion package created in this way is now placed on a negative Velcro base that can be pulled out of the box in such a way that it takes up and secures the positive Velcro underside of the lower corners.

The picture package is now pushed into the box on the drawer and automatically attaches itself to the back wall of the box, which is also covered with Velcro on the entire side, and is now in its transport position.

Now the box lid (side wall) covered with hard foam is screwed or attached to the box and this in turn applies a certain amount of pressure to the top corner with solid adhesive strips and this in turn presses backwards onto the bottom so that the Velcro/Velcro connection and front pressure adhesion are provided. The object to be transported can no longer move during transport.

The packaging is designed in such a way that no additional, complicated handling is required for unpacking. The box's corner is opened. Then the lids of the individual upholstered corners are opened and then the object can be taken out.

The packaging is only prepared again for the next transport.

The system can be installed in any commercially available picture and climate protection box without any major additional effort.

The image size in height, width and depth hardly plays a role, as they always adapt.

Three-dimensional padding and storage of the object is adequately guaranteed in any case and can be adjusted even more precisely than with conventional packaging. The object itself does not suffer any uncontrolled pressure due to the special design of the cushioned corners; where pressure occurs, it is compensated by solid materials and transferred to the places where it is needed.
