Description

The present utility model relates to a device for collecting animal excrement.

It is well known that the excrements of domestic animals, especially those produced during daily dog walking, represent a major problem, especially in urban areas. Often, pet owners fail to fulfil their civic duty to prevent these excrements from being excreted on public roads or footpaths, or at least to remove them so that they do not remain lying around, which is a serious problem from a hygiene and aesthetic point of view.

The problems mentioned above could be solved if the owners of dogs and other pets had a practical and inexpensive means of collecting the animals' faeces and transporting them in a hygienic manner to one of the garbage containers available on public roads.

The device that is the subject of this utility model is aimed at the stated purpose. It is a simply constructed and easy-to-use device that allows the removal of animal faeces in a convenient, hygienic and clean manner.

To facilitate understanding of the explanations, this description is accompanied by some drawings in which an embodiment of a device for collecting animal excrement according to the patent claims is shown by way of illustration, but not by way of limitation.

Figure 1 shows the device in unfolded and ready-to-use condition,

Figure 2 the new collection device at the moment of use for collecting faeces,

Figure 3 the new collection device in closed state containing the faeces, and

Figure 4 shows the device while the bag with contents is transported to the disposal site.

The new device comprises a collecting element and an element for handling.

The collecting element consists of two parts 1 and 2 with square faces and triangular flanges 3 and 4 on the front sides, thus forming two half-shell-shaped elements connected opposite each other to form a housing with a triangular cross-section that is open at the bottom, as shown in Figure 1. The parts 1 and 2 are articulated to each other by coaxial pins or screws 5 defining a hypothetical axis that allows the collecting device to be moved from the open state, as shown in Figure 1, to the closed state according to Figure 3.

The element used for handling comprises two stems 6 and 7, which are advantageously tubular and both end with handles.

Each stem has an arcuate section 8 which is connected to the respective articulated part (at the end 9 with rivets or the like). This design serves to fix the two stems in place to prevent separation when the device is not in use.

A plastic bag is inserted between parts 1 and 2, which is designed to immediately collect the collected material so that the greatest possible hygiene is guaranteed. This bag is disposed of together with its contents. The open side of the bag 10 is folded over the articulated parts 1 and 2 (11 and 12) in preparation and closed with a cord 15 for hygiene reasons.

Furthermore, the articulated parts 1 and 2 have, on their free lower edges, as shown in Figure 1, edges 14 and 15 respectively, which facilitate the collection of the faeces, as can be seen in Figure 2.

It is possible, within the framework of the essential points of the utility model, to also implement other embodiments that differ in detail from the embodiment described above by way of example and that equally fall within the intended scope of protection. The device can therefore be manufactured in any type and size and from the most suitable materials, all of which is covered by the following patent claims.

Claims (13)

Protection claims 1. Device for collecting animal excrement, characterized in that it is formed by the connection of two similar parts (1, 2), each of which has a square surface and, on each of the front faces, respective formations in the form of triangular flanges (3, 4) arranged opposite one another and penetrated by connecting pins (5) defining a hypothetical axis, the free and lower edges of the square surfaces forming respective transverse opposite edges (13, 14), each of the parts (1, 2) being connected, in its upper and middle section, to a stem (6, 7) advantageously provided with a handle, and the assembly is determined by the two articulated parts (1, 2) and forms a housing of triangular cross-section capable of receiving a collection bag (10) which is placed with its opening over the free edges of the parts (1, 2) and is attached to the lower edges (13, 14), thereby facilitating the collection of the substance to be disposed of. 2. Device for collecting animal excrement according to Claim 1, characterized in that the stems (6, 7) each have arcuate sections (8) in the areas where they are connected to the articulated parts (1, 2), which contribute to the mutual holding and fixing of the stems (6, 7) when the device is not in use.
