Wie die Zeichnung zeigt, besitzt der an der Wand oder an einer Säule zu befestigende oder freistehend ausgebildete Garderobenständer a an seinem oberen Teil den doppelten festen Garderobenhaken δ für die Aufnahme von Hut, Überzieher u. dgl. sowie zur Aufnahme von Stöcken und Schirmen in halber Höhe die aus zwei hinter dem Garderobenständer aneinandergelehkten und durch Federn gewöhnlich auseinandergehaltenen Schenkeln bestehende Klammer c und unten den Ring d. Auf der Rückseite des Garderobenständers ist die Riegelstange e auf- und abschiebbar und wird durch die Feder f nach unten gezogen. Die Riegelstange e trägt oben, in der Ebene des Garderobenhakens b unterhalb des letzteren den festen Arm g und über dem Garderobenhaken den am Garderobenständer drehbaren Arm h, während sie unten mit einem dreieckigen Ausschnitt i über die Klammerschenkel c greift. Beide Arme besitzen abgerundete und mit Filz belegte Enden, welche auf entsprechend abgerundete filzbelegte Vorsprünge b¹, b² des Garderobenhakens passen, so daß beim Hochziehen der Riegelstange die Arme g, h auf die Vorsprünge b¹, b^% und auf die an diesen aufgehängten Kleidungsstücke auftreffen und die letzteren festhalten und der Dreieekausschnitt i die Klammer c schließt. Zur Sicherung der Riegelstange in ihrer gehobenen Stellung dient ein Schnappschloß h, dessen Falle s (Fig. 6 und 7) unter eine an der Riegelstange befestigte Zahnstange I greift, die in Gemeinschaft mit einem in sie eingreifenden Ritzel m zum Verschieben der Riegelstange dient.
