Die Vorrichtung bezweckt zunächst, mittelst eine's einfachen Werkzeuges das Dichten leck gewordener Rohrstränge an Ort und Stelle zu bewirken. Sie besteht aus einer einseitigen Rohrschelle a, welche mit einer Klemmschraube b und dieser Schraube gegenüber auf einer breiten Auflagefläche mit einer Platte elastischen Dichtungsmittels c versehen ist. Die flache und doch widerstandsfähige 'Form dieser Rohrschelle ermöglicht ihre Anbringung selbst bei dicht an Wänden entlang geführten Röhren, wo die bisherigen Hilfsmittel des Rohrlegers keinen anderen Ausweg als die oftmals recht lästige Ausschaltung des betreffenden Rohres boten. Die Schelle soll aufserdem zum Anschliefsen von Abzweigungen an die Rohrleitung dienen. Alsdann wird die Platte c als Dichtungsscheibe für einen mit der Schelle ein Stück bildenden Rohrstutzen benutzt, welcher durch Oeffnungen in der Platte und in der Wand des Hauptrohres mit letzterem in Verbindung steht.The device is initially intended to use a simple tool to seal leaky pipe strings on the spot.
