Abstract
The system has a series of superimposed cooling stages, together forming a cylinder and each connected to a cooling medium circuit. Each cooling stage has a cooled top and bottom surface. The machine has a pump for forcing the material through all the stages in each of which scrapers revoling a round the axis of the cylinder are provided for removing the material continuously from the cooling surfaces. Specifically, two scraper carriers held apart axially by a spring are provided in each stage and have scrapers which rub along the top and bottom surfaces. A high throughput can be achieved with the min. possible cooling time. The frequent stripping of the cooling surfaces permits only the growth of microcrystals on these surfaces and act as seed crystals during homogenising.
