Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a coating agent to protect metal surfaces against weld spatter. With this coating agent, Also called release agent, welding beads are attached to both the welding machine (Nozzle of the welding head), as well as on the parts to be welded. To date, neat oils (DT-AS 1 508 337) and triglycerides have been used for this purpose. Claw oils can be obtained from claws of foreign origin. This can lead to stoppages of imports and thus lead to delivery bottlenecks. These neat oils are also strong Subject to price fluctuations. Furthermore, their nature is disadvantageous not completely uniform, but depends on the respective composition of the starting product, namely the claws. The separating or protective effect of triglycerides against weld spatter is limited and therefore unsatisfactory.
Finally, silicones are also known as coating agents, but these are disadvantageous Result in changes in the surface properties of the workpieces.
The object of the invention is to provide a coating agent of the initially mentioned mentioned type with the function of a release agent to create which opposite the means previously used for this purpose is more advantageous.
To solve this problem, the invention uses this Partial ester of glycerol with saturated or unsaturated fatty acids with a Chain length from 6 to 24 carbon atoms to protect sletal surfaces and of the welding head, in particular the nozzle of the welding device against weld spatter or welding beads are suggested for gas-shielded welding. These partial esters of the Glycerine are mono- and diglycerides, or mixtures thereof. It has shown, that such partial esters of glycerol have a better protective and separating effect than have the triglycerides previously used for this purpose. Under this protection or the separating effect is the prevention of sticking in gas-shielded arc welding of welding beads on the surfaces of the metallic parts to be welded as well as understood on the welding device, in particular on its nozzle. Compared to the one previously used Hoof oils have the advantage of import dependency, price stability and the guarantee of a constant quality or composition. Apart from the covering of the surfaces to be welded in question Workpieces and the welding device with the partial ester according to the invention are Neither further pre-treatment nor post-treatment of the workpieces and the welding device necessary. This also eliminates the need for the use of silicone oils Aftercare. The welding machine can over used for a long time without having to remove weld spatter. This results in a better utilization of the device and the total working time.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, liquid Partial esters of glycerol of the type mentioned used, for. B. the mono- and diglyceride of oleic acid. Such liquid partial esters can advantageously be in aerosol cans can be filled, making it particularly easy to apply to the parts to be protected is.
It has been shown that diglycerides, as well as mixtures of mono- and Diglycerides have a particularly good separating effect. Because of economical reasons It is recommended to use a mixture of mono- and diglycerides, since it is available in technical commercial purity at relatively low cost is.
