Die verbesserte Feuerleiter wird durch die Fig. i, 2 und 3 in den verschiedenen Stellungen
dargestellt.The improved fire escape is shown in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 in the various positions

Die Aufeinanderfolge der Figuren giebt zugleich die Reihenfolge der Operationen an, wie
dieselben beim Aufrichten der Leiter befolgt werden. Da die Leiter durch sechs Mann bedient
wird, so deuten die Zahlen 1 bis 6 die Nummern der betreffenden Mannschaften sowie
deren jedesmalige Stellung an.The succession of the figures indicates at the same time the order of the operations, how
the same are followed in raising the ladder. Because the ladder is served by six men
the numbers 1 to 6 indicate the numbers of the teams in question as well
their position every time.
In Fig. ι ist die Leiter im Grundrifs, auf dem Boden liegend, dargestellt. Die Stutzen α und
die Hülfsstützen b, welche ursprünglich dicht an den Holmen c der Leiter lagen, sind auf das
erste Commando auseinandergelegt, und zwar fassen Mann 1 und 2 bei dieser Operation an
den Stützen α an, Mann 5 und 6 an den Hülfsstützen b, während 3 und 4 an dem Schnittpunkt
der Hauptstützen mit den Hülfsstützen stehen.In Fig. Ι the ladder is shown in the Grundrifs, lying on the floor.
