Je nach gewünschtem Komfort können die physiologischen Eigenschaften des Bezuges durch den Einsatz eines Füllfadens verbessert werden. Als Füllfaden kann eine Polyesterhohlfaser oder ein hochelastisches texturiertes Polyamid- oder Polyestergarn in verschiedenen Stärken je gewünschter Gewichtsklasse eingesetzt werden. Dabei ist es vorteilhaft, dass der Füllfaden mit einer Elasthanseele verwirbelt wird, um die Querelastizität des Bezugsstoffes nicht zu begrenzen. Mit zunehmender Stärke des Füllfadens wird allerdings die Längselastizität der Fläche etwas eingeschränkt, weil die Füllung des Zwischenraumes einen Teil der vorhandenen elastischen Dehnung in Anspruch nimmt bzw. die mögliche Deckung eher begrenzt, weil die Vorderseite die Füllung umschließt und damit nicht völlig gestrickt werden kann.
