Abstract

The basic version of the chair (1) is assembled of four legs (2) with four horizontal bars (3, 4) positioned at both, their upper and their lower ends, and a unit comprising the seat part (8) and a high backrest (9). The seat part/backrest unit (8, 9) as well as the leg unit (2, 3, 4) can be swiveled around a transversal axle (7) located at the rear of the seat area (8), causing the rear surface of the backrest (9) to lie on top of the rear surface of the leg unit (2, 3, 4). The former backrest (9) serves as a deeper, more comfortable seat. In other versions armrests and different designs of leg units can be incorporated.

Ein Sessel hingegen muß andere Eigenschaften aufweisen, die sich auf den ersten Blick nicht mit denen eines Stuhls vereinbaren lassen. Die Sitzfläche sollte deutlich länger und nach hinten geneigt sein. Die Sitzposition muß niedriger als die eines Stuhls liegen, und die Rückenlehne sollte weniger steil stehen. Nach Fig. 1 bis 5 enthält ein erfindungsgemäßes Sitzmöbel, das insbesondere für kleine Wohnungen und die daraus resultierenden Bedürfnisse konzipiert ist, ein Traggestell 1, das z.B. aus vier Beinen und diese an den oberen und unteren Enden verbindenden Längsstreben 3, 4 und Querstreben 5 zusammengesetzt ist. An den Hinterenden von zwei oberen, seitlich angebrachten Längsstreben 4 ist ein Sitzgestell 6 schwenkbar gelagert, wobei eine durch Schwenkzapfen od. dgl. definierte Achse 7 als Schwenkachse wirkt. Die Erfindung ist nicht auf die beschriebenen Ausführungsbeispiele beschränkt, die auf vielfache Weise abgewandelt werden können. Auch die Materialien und die Proportionen der verschiedenen Teile können weitgehend frei gewählt werden. 10. Seating furniture according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that one of the sections ( 8 , 26 , 37 , 46 , 57 ) has a pull-out or fold-out middle part ( 11 , 29 , 39 , 49 , 61 ).

11. Seating furniture according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that it has means for locking the seat frame ( 6 , 28 , 36 , 44 , 58 ) to the support frame ( 1 , 21 , 31 , 2041 , 51 ).

12. Seating furniture according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the support frame ( 1 , 21 , 31 , 41 , 51 ) is designed such that it leads to different seat heights in the two positions of use.

13. Seating furniture according to claim 12, characterized in that the support frame ( 1 , 21 , 31 ) has a substantially rectangular cross-section.
