Abstract

The clock is shaped like a mosque with two minarets (3) which may light up and a dome (2) which acts as a cover for the CD player. There is an ON/OFF switch (5) adjacent to the dome. Claims

1. Automatic playback device for the call to prayer (= Ezan) according to Islamic prayer times, characterized in that the playback device as a whole consists of an integrated conventional/radio-controlled digital clock with an LCD/LED display, a CD player (for normal or mini CD), one or more loudspeakers, a controller chip and a specially coded fixed memory interface (chip connection port) for attaching/reading external mobile data chips.

Playback device according to claim 1, characterized in that the exchangeable mobile data chip (e.g. flash memory, EPROM memory), which contains source data for controlling the device (prayer times five times a day sorted by city according to the specifications of various religious institutions - annual/multi-year), is coupled to the fixed memory interface (chip connection port) of the playback device with a special coding (hardware/software method), so that the controller chip/chip reader of the device can read data exclusively from this mobile data chip.

3. Playback device according to claim 1, characterized in that the device is integrated in a housing modelled on a mosque,

- which consists of four minarets, two at the front and two at the back, and a hemispherical dome centrally located on the building,

- on the front of which there is a central display showing the date, local time, location, selected institution as data source, Islamic date, prayer name and prayer time,

- on the front of which openings for loudspeakers with holes in the housing can be seen to the left and right of the display,

- on the back of which there is a slightly recessed area with adjustment and control elements,

- on the back of which a removable/screwable cover plate is installed, which covers the fixed memory interface and the replaceable data chip attached to it,

- on the back of which a removable cover plate is installed, which covers the retractable power supply cable and the battery compartment,

- on the roof of which the dome can be moved by opening or sliding to the side to insert or change CDs,

- on the roof of which the controls for the CD player are located on the flat surface to the left of the dome,

- on the roof of which, to the right of the dome on the flat surface, a larger control element for switching alarm signals on and off and a button for opening the dome (CD lid) is integrated into the housing,

- whose display background on the front, the minarets and the dome on the roof are equipped with lighting instruments.
